I think there were around 17,000 people all hoping for the same thing.

You have all missed the most important thing about Pat Richards, in that he is a team player.

In the second half he had just the fullback to beat, which I believe he could have done. However what he did was to pass the ball inside to Liam Farrell for Farrell to score. Sadly Liam dropped the ball and the opportunity was lost.

Anyone see how far off that touchline kick was off target at the end as all the South Stand seemed to think it was over


It was going over till about 5 yards from the posts when it started to drift, gutted for him.

Indeed it would have! 16,900 Wigan fans were screaming for him to go for the 'one'.

Couldnt have been far off. From where we were in the West Stand, we thought it had gone over too.
My boy was going nuts at the linesmen, saying that they should have put the flags up for him as the match was done anyway!

The way he shook his head with a wry smile on his face after that last conversion attempt almost brought tears to my eyes lol.

I was really gutted for Pat that he didnt beat the record, but to equal it is no mean feat. To be up there with the likes of a Wigan legend in Farrell is awesome! He finished the regular season on 29 tries, no doubt he will pass the 30 mark in the playoffs.

A great player and a great guy! Everyone is forgetting that he can still go for the record next season and he hasnt played all of the games this season on the wing? And we will have a better team next season with the supposed signings?!

In a weird way i was relieved when he missed that conversion attempt, i think both Farrell and Richards both holding the record is better..

I love the fact we are pointing to the fact that he is a winger so logically you would expect more tries.
Pretty ironic when for a long time we have almost completely ignored our wingers!
