| Is that when Andy Farrell set it, he had an extra game to do so.
In 2001, the league consisted of 28 games, during which Faz scored 388 points.
In 2010, Pat will only have 27 games to beat the record.
As it stands right now, even if Pat fails to score at all tonight, he is pretty much tied with Faz for points per game:
Faz: 388 points from 28 matches = 13.86 points per game
Pat: 374 points from 27 matches = 13.85 points per game (assuming no points tonight)
Therefore, to break the record, Pat will actually have to score over 14 points per match.
389 points from 27 matches = 14.4 points per game
(He's currently averaging 14.38, so it's going to be close)
Come on Paddy. Let's have it.

| He'll comfortably manage it tonight, though I'd have thought play-off games could be included as well as regular season matches?

Not really as fair seeing as some players will have extra games. Regular season points is the fairest way to do it.

| The points record is both an SL-era club record, and an overall Super League record isn't it? And he can also set an SL-era club record for most tries in a regular season?
He could've had an extra six points on the board already at Murrayfield but for his injury, too - Sam kicked a couple of goals that day, and Piggy got one too. They carried on the kicking duties at Widnes in the Cup the following week too, and then Pat was back on it.

| He can set the Wigan record for tries in a season. Kris Radlinski got 27 in 2001.

| Hows his goalkicking record against Farrells of that season? Is he in line to break that record tonight too?
Well done to Mr Richards and Wigan (through gritted teeth) on a splendid season whatever happens tonight!

No, Farrell got 164 goals that season compared to 133 Richards currently has. Its the fact he is a very good try scorer aswell thats helped him.

In the SL era, yeah. As far as all-time records go, he'll be going some to beat Johnny Ring's 62 tries in a season, or Frano's 186 goals (though he's a chance of beating Frano's 423 points).

He's right up there as one of our greatest signings in my view. People look at Pat for scoring the tries, kicking the goals etc but it's also the unnoticed work. He works his tits off up the middle first or second tackle when our props are getting back from a clearance kick. His metre making his awesome, not far of the beast that is James Graham.

| How many games over a season have they actually scored those points. If you are making comparisons then surely you would have to go over the actual number of games each player has played in. Missing through injury must come into it at some point. Still when all is said and done it is still an achievement. A hatrick and a couple of goals tonight should seal it.
