This will be Castleford's first season under Danny McGuire as head coach, and the team will be captained by Sam Wood. Danny Richardson’s career has been on the slide since the glory days of running out in the Red Vee and being named in the Dream Team of 2018. He has surprised many by rocking up at Craven Park and at 28 he will be firmly in the 2nd string at Hull KR. Jack Broadbent will be a loss to Castleford and he was already showing signs of replacing Oliver Gildart as the Robins left edge Centre. Elie El-Zakem was one of the bright spots at Castleford last season along with the mid-season capture of Tex Hoy. El-Zakem will sadly be missed after returning back to Oz suffering with homesickness. Judah Rimbu and Jeremiah Simbiken, both native PNG forwards, have been drafted in to strengthen a lacklustre forward pack.
