| Announced today although, in typical Broncos style 3 October given as launch date for early bird offer ( in future tense) ( possibly the excitement of our latest L1 pick up distracted us). Anyway the offer itself seems realistic and flexible: might be a winner. Might be nice to hear more about squad strength etc before putting money down but we are where we are.

| You would hope most if not all of the squad were in place by 31st December but with Broncos you never know.

| Given the discounting the club had to come up with a format that would prevent ST holders feeling fleeced and this seems to serve that purpose.

I think you’re right but maths was never my strong point. If I’ve got it right if I buy a ‘membership’ for myself and junior and we both attend 8 games it’s par with buying on line in advance. If we attend more we’re up on the deal if less down. The real benefit is if you turn up and find the team well below the standard and don’t fancy going much anymore, a position I think a few on here have found themselves in, then this scheme is much better than a straight ST...but not as good as pay on the door (doubly so if there is discounting). Overall a difficult position for the club, almost entirely of own making, and this approach is probably the best way forward. I’d like to hear a bit more about non L1 recruitment before deciding.

Yup. I don’t really buy the spreading the game message but it does make a change so in that respect one game away from PL is probably Ok. 2 is taking a liberty at an extra £20 a pop to get there. Plus of course we’ve gone to all this bother to get into PL playing away from it seems perverse. If I was them I’d focus on raising local awareness in south west/ west London not east London/ Kent but there you are.

| As a concession (old git) I reckon I'd be ahead if I attend nine games. I managed seven this year, mainly due to family illness and rail closures. I probably will go for it

I probably will as well but I just want to see if they are going to strengthen the squad before the season starts rather than crisis manage it part way through when the realise they can’t wing it.

I'd like to know what "outside factors" can be blames that don't make this 100% entirely of their own making?
Just buy early for the games you want to go to early season and pick up the last 6 games for fiver a pop would be my advice. Not a snowballs chance in hell with the current squad that they'll trouble the engravers in 2023.

Now you mention it there aren’t any but it was my way of not putting the blade in too deeply to my own side even when they have been hammer heads. As you’ve exposed it for the toffee it was I have to put my hands up.

| As an aside I didn’t see any mention of the premium level ST incl. access to Gold lounge. Usually we major on that so that’s odd.

Perhaps next season you will have to swear allegiance to Yosser before being allowed in the Gold Lounge.

| We (three inour household) have decided at the moment right now we won't be purchasing memberships. This of course might change but seeing we only went to two games last year I think we will wait until we see
1) Strength of squad, bringing in L1 players does not tempt us back
2) How many games away from PL in the summer, we live in Egham so getting to Kent is a chore, one game is fine, but if its like last year and we have multiple games then its unlikely we will bother
3) The fact that I would put a 90% chance that by August next year there will be discount's again, so we might just wait until the tickets for a fiver offer comes again (like last 2 years pretty much)

| Just read the online article. Apparently there is a £2.50 reduction on matchday prices if you book online 48 hours before kick off. My maths is probably awry but doing it that way (as a concession) appears to be cheaper than buying a membership?

| Indeed it does not seem possible to make a saving by buying concession membership compared to earlybird matchday tickets.
Concession earlybird match day ticket £12.50
Concession membership £43 (early bird prior to 31/12/2022), then £55.
Member match day ticket £10
For concession membership to represent a saving over early bird match day tickets you would need to attend 18 games at early bird membership price or 22 games otherwise. This would not seem to be possible.
Adult earlybird match day ticket £17.50
Adult membership £80 (early bird prior to 31/12/2022), then £95.
Member match day ticket £10
For adult membership to represent a saving over early bird matchday tickets you would need to attend 11 games at early bird membership price or 13 games otherwise.

Not sure that finding an empty seat is a major problem! Although, as I’ve said before, I turned up to last two home games to find someone plonked in my ST seat anyway.
On another note what is the maximum of home games an ST is entitled to. Is it 13? Working on the basis that an ST holder is more likely than most to turn up to all games, my maths says that’s £210 all in. My memory’s going but wasn’t that what an ST ticket cost last year? If so not perhaps the most stunning of cost of living crisis offers but I suppose the natural trajectory for prices would be up so this is basically a price freeze for the most dedicated- although I think on the door has gone down (if we ignore the heavy discounting last year.)

| Has there been assurances that there will not be a repeat of the 5 games for £30 at the end of last year?
After the mass cutting of prices last season, with kids reduced after just one game, I'd be loathe to purchase anything from the broncos at RRP.
Now with another PM in place and people forecasting this global recession could last for 2 years or more, the Broncos need to be making statements about why these memberships are value and protecting the very people who they treated badly in 2022 by taking their cash and then offering the same tickets to everyone for a fiver.
Bradford should be applauded. 8,000 kids ST's handed out to kids at all the local schools that they've visited.. really good initiative with a lot of hard work involved.

As described above, the concession membership does not offer any savings over early bird match tickets and it would be deceit by the club to suggest otherwise.
The club needed to discount heavily last season. I'd say there is a good chance they will need to again.

I’m ‘ discounting’ our chances of coming in the top 4 if that’s any help.

| Season Tickets are tricky for any sport. If attendances are high (for the stadium size) its a way to guarantee attendance for sell outs and have a reserved seat. With low attendances there is no problem getting in or finding a decent seat.
Generally Season Tickets have minimal savings (maybe a couple of matches for "free"icon_wink.gif. But few people achieve 100% attendance.
The other part is loyalty and the up front income for the club you support. I get the impression London have really blown that part. When the relationship is good and supporters are proud of the club, newbies getting freebies, reduced prices doesn't matter as everyone wants a club to grow.
During the Pandemic AFC Wimbledon sold Season Tickets; either refundable (for matches with no fans) or non-refundable (potentially a donation). They uptake on the second was high.
After this years relegation many fans said they wouldn't renew. It would be cheaper on a match by match basis if you were unlikely to attend every match. In the end a lot bailed out. The number sold this year increased (4,400 I believe). That leaves match by match availability around 1,800. The rest is Hospitality and Away Fans. Prices were frozen for early renewals but then increased including new ST holders. Despite a guaranteed circa £2 Million from ST's its still questionable how the club have performed !
The club are lucky because no way would they have sold that many if the stadium was much larger. So I see exactly where London fans are coming from. In terms of what has been offered, I'm not sure they could do much more. A compromise of an up front commitment then pay more for any games attended.
The actual problem to me is disenfranchising most of the existing fans. If what was being offered both on and off the pitch showed the club cared, then most long term fans would likely have no issue with the Season Tickets / Memberships. The obvious caveat being the location which will alienate many.
There has to be some improvement on and off the pitch next season. From what I've seen I'm more confident with the former as off the pitch I've seen nothing to suggest any likely improvements.

Don't think most London fans was alienated by the location, I was dubious at first, but the two times I attended, it was pretty easy to get to. The reasons for not going where much more related to the offering served up and current management than where PL was situated.
London fans was more agaisnt the move owing to the cost of hiring the stadium, and the fact that we have to train at different facilites, and the fact the 2nd team have to play in a different venue (while at Ealing we all played at one place). Also the fact we have to travel to kent for a couple of games while the pitch is re-laid.
But I think everybody agreed that the ground and location was not a problem at all, it was everything else around it (cost, different venues, having to move home games mid-season, a spell of 5-6 weeks with no home games etc)

| You would hope AFC have already advised the club on the likely effect of pitch maintenance in the summer, although who knows what Mother Nature might throw at us this winter. If the correct pitch was relaid last year then it should only be a repair issue this summer of 2/3 weeks. With the right fixtures that could be just 1 game being moved. Don't think 5 away games on the trot would be acceptable this year. More than 1 game being moved & club should be telling fans that before the end of earlybird pricing.
