I cant remember, It was a few years ago. Though I think it was an Ex Oldham Player and Assistant Coach who still had a lot of connections in the game who told me. but can't be 100%

He'd have no reason to lie, and most of what he said (upcoming transfers and the like) usually turned out to be so.

& bear in mind wigan would have had to take the salary cap into consideration...

He looked fairly decent. I cant see him being anything really special though.

I think it a little early yet to make statements like that. I mean his last 3 seasons have been 2 years in NL2 and 1 year in NL1 followed by 1 SL game. I think he looks a very good player, but then again Wellens looks class a lot of the time when he's in a winning team. Over the past 2 years Celtic have probably won 80% of their games. 1st game in the big time and he makes a serious blunder. There's no doubt he can run and comes into the attack very well, but if after 10 games he's made 10 blunders, people might start to say he's a luxury player a la Kevin Penny.

From what I've seen he probably will go very well, but as I said its far too early to tell. The moves that people have been talking about that didn't work against Leeds were working in NL and the amount of times Widnes were cut to shreads by Van Dijks inside balls was ridiculous. Very much wait and see IMO.

Tony Duggan's brilliance ---two tries in three minutes against Salford --- shows that he is every bit the great player that I have been saying.

He will last this franchise series... and more than likely retire around the second batch in my eyes

It is not extraordinary for a full back to last until age 33-34.

If Tony Duggan can avoid serious injury, he should be able to score 200 tries for the Crusaders before he retires. (He hit the 100 mark yesterday).

I fully expect him to be part of the Dream Team in at least one month this year. Most important thing for him is to make 100 Super League games for the Crusaders and have a fantastic testimonial in 2012 or whenever it comes around.

Bottom line: the boy has class.

He would need approx 25 tries a season for the next four seasons - big statement I think.

Are you joking ? He isn't that good and Celtic won't score that many tries, let alone Tony Duggan.

If he plays into 2013, at age 34, he will only need to score 20 a season.

Big ask for sure, but on yesterday's performance you would think that perhaps the Little Master could pull it off.
