It's been announced this evening by Workington Town that Nick Johnson, James Green and Dave Petersen have been loaned to Town for the season. Any info as to these players please?

Really james green I really like him don't know much bout other two

all 3 good young players, i think the arrangement will benifit all parties. the boys need to be playing a higher standard than reserve grade, probably their make or break year.

green is a big front rower, strong carrier of the ball.

johnson is a winger.

petersen can play various positions, had a good game in the fev friendly, steady progress through the youth system.

James Green is a beast and a very very promising player.

After seeing James Green play on a handful of occasions, i would say that he could have a big future in super league if he stays focused and works hard, he's certainly a big lad.
I dont know enough about the other two to make a worthwhile judgment, it will be interesting to see how they go.

Peterson looks a player with potential to me, Green as stated is a monster, if he doesn't rip it up for worky I'll be really surprised.

Glad to see that this partnership might bare some fruits for both clubs.

work with Nicks mum she wont be impressed having to trip up to cumbria to see him play but credit where due for a player who didnt take up the sport til he'd dabbled with round ball he's done well. Of my limited knowledge think greeny is the guy to watch

Both Welham brothers dabbled in football before taking up Rugby at a late age.

Very happy as a Town fan to see these 3 join us for the season, nice to see the link up bearing fruit. Sounds like 3 very good young uns, especially this prop Green who sounds like a real prospect. Part of the reason, last season anyway, was the belief the U20s would make the play-offs for the first time, and develop as a unit as part of that push. This was a request from Deighton, Webster and Chessie to Justin who was more than happy to go along with it. The coaching staff identified a need to raise the profile of Rovers lower grade, and I for one believe they have done this by achieving those goals.

IMO if Rovers are to develop its own talent then the lower grade set up needed to make a statement of intent - reaching the play-offs for the first time and retaining the nucleus of the squads who achieved it can only enhance future player recruitment.
