Everyone at the club is collectively responsible for the mess we're in, including Carl. But we need to remember that Carl was the man who probably saved the club from going out of existence. That doesn't mean we should turn a blind eye to all that has gone wrong recently but I think it is unfair to question Carl's integrity in all this, as seems to be the case with the accusations being made against Club Doncaster. That primarily was the point I was aiming to make.

If Carl is caught up in the perverse battle to drive the Dons down, as suggested elsewhere, then I feel even more for the guy.

As for people (elsewhere) claiming that Gary Thornton should be sacked ... well, please send for the men in white coats to deal with them. None of this has got anything at all to do with Gary Thornton.

I'm really sorry to see S/O calling it a day. I fully understand everyone's frustrations and annoyance at what we're having to endure this season. I hope you'll be back soon, mate.

Not sure what games you've been at but the featherstone game most of the tries went through mistakes by Hodson or fox. Same applies to last week. Winger being dropped rightly so I would have played Dave at fullback and brought sam onto the wing toms been on imo.

I don't know this to be fact but the RL-press seem to think that Graham Steadman was 'in for the job'.

I heard that as well but apparently the Club would only give him a contract till the end of the season I believe that Derryck Fox also applied who is coaching in Australia

Club doncaster stinks, we were doing all right until Carl sold to them.
Its all about NOT spending money, no players bonuses for winning, that tells its own story.
No MOTM prize money, so no ones going to bust a gut, everyone would be if bonuses and a MOTM prize was on offer.
They have ruined the club in less than a season.

Those are some interesting statements Onedon, are they from a reliable source? if they are true then then its pretty damming for the side.

Disagree slightly there OD that players won't bust a gut without prize money being available tho I agree a decent club will add those little sweeteners. Sad fact is some of the squad just aren't good enough at this level and it goes right back to recruitment. Some will improve and some are at their limit. What's sad is our better players will probably leave at the end of the season......then what???

Ive just watched carl's in the dugout speech and how surprising was it that after the THIS IS IT massive game cmon lets get behind the boys we need you ramble last week he totally ignored the 1st question asked about last sundays game? i quite like carl and admit he has done alot of good things for our club but it seems the passion is waning and now until the end of the season its just a case of him begging for bigger crowds to line the pockets of the money men at club doncaster! It might be me being cynical but i care about the dons and feel we have lost our identity. Even some of our happy clapping fans can see the club is crumbling big style! COYD

Why didnt he address last weeks game which he billed as massive and this is it? the 7 or 8 mins in the dugout talk just seems to be very repetitive with the soft voice feeling sorry for ourselves act, this may come across very harsh from me but i can see my club dying on his , were heading for a winless season and with the likes of cookes exit, the waterman fiasco and now dunn going leaving + the shambles of dr we have become a joke! from 4th to this its just not acceptable

Im pretty sure he has to show passion and hurt for the 7 min interview, the fight and passion between the players and everyone involved at the club went along time ago lets face facts, it kills me saying things like this but if anyone of us performed like this at our workplace we would be long gone

I think the bottom line for us this season is that the squad simply isn't good enough to compete at this level. No matter how hard they try, they're almost certainly going to come out second best. If we're going to win a game this season, I'd guess it'll be because our opponents have an off day and we play out of our skin.

It must be really hard for the players to keep going in such difficult circumstances. For various reasons, we've never had a settled side this season and I'm sure that's not helped either.

It's been mentioned that no one had set up a thread for this weekend's Batley game. I think we, as supporters, are still trying to recover from last weekend's Whitehaven game as it knocked the stuffing out of us. It was yet another piece of evidence to show how far we've fallen behind the rest of the teams in this league.

One of the questions that keeps coming back to haunt me this week is, "If we've had the biggest ever playing budget this season, why haven't we had the best team we've ever had?"

Maybe as loyal paying supporters we should be able to ask why? Its criminal for a team to finish 4th then up their wage budget then finish rock bottom being winless, some folk seem happy to write this season off then tick some champ 1 clubs off their ground list next year but not me im embarrassed with what's happened and how this club is being run and if we can't voice our concerns whats the point us turning up? barring london and sheffield it goes to show if your not brought up in the heartlands of rugby its very hard to succeed. You can ask your questions leafy, we now have an SLO and a fans committee who can all be approached, that is one thing that has improved, and something fans have been calling for, not saying you'll get an answer, I don't know, but you can ask. I am guilty as charged as one who has basically written off this season and am looking forward to improvement next season, doesn't mean what's happening now is not affecting me, believe me I'm gutted at what this seasons brought. I know that some say, well you follow KR, it doesn't matter to you, well yes I follow KRs results and I love to see them do well, but I have not seen them "live" for a number of years now, I am now a Dons man, and it matters. But at the end of the day, no matter how badly we play, or how many we lose, there's always another game , and as you know when it comes to rugby, I'm an optimistic numpty, always think there's at least a chance, if not a probability. And there are far worse things happening in the world than seeing your team lose.

I do agree the appointment of a slo is a forward step and knowing big baz he will ask the questions were all wanting to hear, with the news that kr and fc are merging their youth academies i would reluctantly agree to take some of the up and coming rhinos youngsters
