I have not seen that much of him, and he is only young, but I would say he is more similar to Steve Evans in his ability to play almost anywhere across the back line. Similar to Ratchford at Warrington.

Losing genuine young talented half backs including HTW if the rumours are true due to an inflexible wage structure seems ludicrous when we are obviously paying Connor an above average wage based on what Huddersfield are reporting that they offered him the best contract ever to a player of his age.
I would much rather have a young specialist half back coming through to the senior ranks than another utility player fitting in when necessary who although is only two years older is probably earning treble the salary.

To be fair, nobody actually knows for sure the salaries of the players. It's all conjecture.
Connor is a good player already, and will get better, so I don't blame the club for signing him.
One thing that has seen a massive improvement is recruitment, so I trust Motu on this one.

For me, I'd liken Connor to Richard Whiting when he joined us.

A clever footballing brain at a young age. A Centre and Full back who can play across the threequarter line and a very useful five eighth which Rich certainly was when he joined us from Fev.

The big difference of course is that Connor has real pace, a step and speed off the mark and an eye for a gap.

Of course if young Jake could add to his talents, Rich's outstanding defence, positional sense, and great loyalty to the Hull FC, then we will have a real player.

Either way it looks like Radders has his man, and I wish Jake great success in the famous B&W irregular stripes.

You do realise he was comparing Connor to Stilts. Compared to Rich, I've got real pace.

Regardless of the comparison, it'd be wrong to suggest Connor has 'real pace'.

Again, why are our much vaunted youth system players not good enough to play in the roles this second stringer has being signed to cover? Why are they not being allowed to demonstrate their worth, how can you find out if they are capable if you don't actually allow them to play?
Why are we letting go our talent at the expense of a second string player from another club for similar amount of wages.

Sorry but it still makes no sense to me unless we are failing to develop our youth players and/or the coach has zero faith in the youth players to step up in which case that is a serious problem.

Why are you asking the same questions over and over again, which have been answered already. Just accept that Radford knows more than you about our squad and at the end of the day, like every other time you will be proved wrong as usual.

I would love to see all our young kids kept on I know some of them personally and there family's but the truth is a lot of young kids can get better money just taking an apprenticeship in the outside world its a real gamble for them because if they get released at 20 years of age they have probably gone past an age where an employer will take them due to government funding for apprentices ( funding stops at 18/19) so there stuck in no mans land Its a real problem.
At bishop they try and prepare them for a job in coaching PE type role, but its not for all kids and there's only so many jobs like that out there, for us to be able to find the next line of rugby stars we need a long production line of quite low paid kids coming along to give us the best chance of bringing some through its not easy for them, super league is physical hence the 23s comp to try and bridge the gap, that will get stronger with 2 other clubs set to join next year, hopefully having the amount of youngsters we have signed on we will see quite a few make the first team in the next few years but some will fall by the way side and do other things or get released its just the way it goes
