Badly handled all round if this doesnt happen. On the 18th June, Connor tweeted to say he was happy to be joining Hull FC but would give everything for Huddersfield until the end of the season. He even replied to Josh Griffin who said they would car share. If he goes back on this 'agreement' then it looks bad on him as being purely about money

Would appear that the castigated Giants MD Richard Thewlis got it right and some barrack room lawyers (at both clubs) were wrong.

I know. The proper forum/internet way would be to watch everyone kick off, knee jerk, go mental, throw blame at people at the time - then relax for a while, wait for either an official announcement or for Connor to be pictured wearing an FC shirt shaking hands with Person. Then if it's the latter, dredge up all the daft posts.

Let's be honest, if he doesn't sign it isn't the end of the world, slightly disappointing, which will be enhanced by his performance against us, but he isn't essential to our plans and we still have plenty of time to recruit.

Good player but certainly not up to Shaul's standard at fullback. Possibly the reason for the U turn if he says he wants to play there.

Also possible the RFL have realised that the 'agreement' would constitute JC signing for Hull at an age where compensation would be due + this figure can be enhanced for high quality players (sizable contract offers from 2 SL clubs for a young player may suggest an enhanced fee).

Given the press statements Pearson did not think a large fee was due. Maybe the fee is not budgeted for or pushes the cost of JC too high.

We will probably never know.

Any money we can find would be much better spent on finding a 6,so it doesnt bother me if Connor isnt coming now.

Seems pretty clear however if the kid doesn't want to play for us I believe we should act in a dignified manner and allow him to stay at hudds. A small fee from hudds to smooth the waters would be in order

Based on what? The club have confirmed that he has signed (backed up by the RFL) and neither the player or his agent have stated otherwise.

I'm confused completely by Hulls stance on this.
First they announce they have signed Connor, without having the decency to let his parent club know, or agree a fee. Then, when they realise they will have to pay a fee for Jake they backtrack and state no actually they haven't signed him, but have agreed to sign him after his 22nd birthday (to avoid paying the fee). Then when there's talk of him changing his mind and signing an extension with his parent club all of a sudden he HAS signed a contract.
Seems Hull want to have their Connor cake and eat it. Or at least lie to avoid paying a fee they should pay.
A nice 6 figure sum didn't thewlis say. Given the hullabaloo around this and the amount of money being chucked at him there's little chance Hull can deny he's worth it.....

Or maybe Hudds misinterpreted the rules believing that FC couldn't speak to the player until he was 22 without paying a fee rather than FC being within the rules to agree to his signing , have the contract signed now and come into effect after he is 22 thus avoiding any fee. So as well as losing a player they miss out on a fee which has persuaded them to do everything they can to throw a spanner in the works including offering him more money perhaps? Hence the threat from FC that they would pursue anyone who has offered inducements to break the contract. Who is his agent? Maybe it's just an opportunistic attempt to try to get some more out of the deal on the back of Hudds being miffed off? Up to now he's simply signed for FC within the rules and no fee is payable nor is there any evidence from the player or his agent that there is anything untoward. And Huddersfield stated that Conner had already turned down the best offer in the World before Hull said they'd signed him. I'm guessing at that point him signing for someone else wasn't a complete surprise.
