| Great news indeed to have it finally confirmed and made official.
I know some maybe won't agree but I do think Adam deserves an huge amount of thanks for taking on ownership of the club and delivering 2 of the best days in the clubs history and the owner who finally got rid of the Wembley monkey. Yes he made some mistakes and no doubt will be the first to admit it. That said he has steered the club single handedly through some very difficult times following an unprecedented pandemic and global lockdown and at least keep the club alive. He has also ensured he has handed the club over to very respectable and genuine people with financial clout behind them.
On to the future I believe that AT & DH will take this club and an upward trajectory and have it back challenging at the top of the game before too long.
So thanks Adam for everything and welcome aboard Andrew & David (OBE)

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but if he had his time again I reckon he'd do the below differently
Not put faith in McRae (seemed sensible at the time given his experience in the game and at the club but 10 internationals signing was a breach of the trade descriptions act)
Not sack Gentle (6th place and a cup final wasn't bad going given a weak squad)
Improve the squad for 2018 (some of the cup winners had a year or 2 much milage on the clock by that point)
Sack Radford earlier (tough for any coach to come back from that many defeats)
Not keep hiring assistants (job too big to have on the job training) and replaced Motu with another DOR with RL experience
But it's very hard to say what if, in alternative timelines we could have been coached by Watson, Lam, kept Last... and who knows what would have happened next. Even if lockdown had hit a week or two earlier Radders may have remained into 2021.
But yeh 2 cup wins ultimately outweigh a lot of the doom

| Best outcome we could possibly have imagined, given the state of the game and the economy.
Hopefully the regime can unlock the potential of the club finally.
Probably announce the new middle soon!

| Great to have this sorted after what's been a lengthy process. Lets hope that this is the start of a successful time for the club, although I feel patience is required.

| Obviously we've all known this was coming for a few weeks now, but to have it officially confirmed today is very gladdening news for all.
There is clearly a lot of hard work still to be done before we are back challenging at the top once more, but at least we now have the tools (and hopefully the right personnel) to begin tackling the job in hand.
One thing's for sure, we're all way more optimistic about the future than we were as last season dribbled to its depressing end, rescued from almost the very brink of oblivion in my view.
Fingers crossed, let's hope we look back on today as the moment a great period commenced for our great club. Keep the faith everyone, good times may be here again soon.

| Excellent news. Thanks to AP who put too much faith in the wrong people but who, i felt, always had the best interests of the club at heart.
Welcome aboard the 2 new owners - at a combined wealth of £1/2bn must be one of the wealthiest ownership groups in SL, possibly 2nd only to the guy at wigan

Some patience needed yes as the squad does have some weaknesses, however my view is the standard in SL has dropped and outside of the top 3 or 4 decent teams it's a lottery of who's squad has stayed fit, what iffy ref calls they have had etc so I don't feel it's a massive mountain to climb over the next few years.
We just need a bit of a spark, even 2 home wins in a row would feel like a miracle after what we have seen.

| Today is without doubt a big relief for many of us particularly us season ticket holders of over 60 years who have wintered and summers so many ownership changes ups and downs near catastrophes and periods of uncertainty surrounding the ownership of the club we love. Some of us old timers now probably feel that at least we will have a club to support day in day out for the rest of our days.
I say that with some certainty because although I have only spoken to Adam a few times in the last couple of years he has always emphasised one thing: that he had to ensure that Hull FC continues in perpetuity long after he is gone and that he was only seeking potential owners who could guarantee that. But that is the mark of the man for not only did he bring some of us the best moment of our lives but he has been a pretty good guardian of our heritage particularly for someone who is not a mega millionaire or a rugby man by his previous life.
We tend to say oh well we move on and dream of big transfer fees being paid and days of milk and honey returning . But this is a very very big milestone in our history just as was Adam rescuing us from the Hetherington dynasty and indeed them saving our bacon after the Lloyd years. Not only that but after several awful years for the fans of the club Adam has still overseen and nurtured a fanbase that has stayed loyal through the toughest of times and that still numbers more than many clubs can dream of. We grumbled about what he did at times but when the full financial story of the last few years comes out and it is balanced with his wealth (against potentially the half a billion coming in) folks will realise just how difficult it has been for our now past owner both financially and health wise. It’s not for me to go into details but sufficient to say things were close to being a lot worse.
The Numpties from across the river brag about their fan base but when they do I suggest you reply as I do with the simple phrase “and how many season tickets do you think we would have sold after a season as good as yours was” .
The new owners have been courted and then heavily vetted by Adam and must realise not only do they inherit the most revered strip and the most famous anthem in the game and indeed one of the most acclaimed clubs in the sport (who incidentally play in the best stadium in the British game) but also the most loyal and potentially biggest fanbase and RL community in the British game. This is an historic moment which should weigh heavily on the shoulders of our two new owners. But I’m heartened by their financial backing, their business pedigree and as far as our new chairman’s tenure in the game is concerned his love of the sport. Adam assures us all they have behaved impeccably throughout the negotiations and they are the men for the club.
So good luck Adam thanks for everything and for looking after my club and welcome to our new owners we’re all 100 percent behind you.
I will await with great interest their first statement on taking over but as Indiana jones once said for all of us black and whites now …….the adventure continues….. but for me and many other old timers it’s a big day indeed.

| I'm not just saying this cos we now have wealthy backers but with kr seemingly having money and being well run, Leeds and Warrington always being able to spend, Wigan of course being well just Wigan, is it time to raise the salary cap and start bringing quality nrl players here again? Get some stars here, put some bums on seats and try to grow the game by improving tye quality of the product cos what's currently happening isn't working

| Thank goodness Adam kept us afloat, particularly in recent times.
Near the end his lack of deep pockets certainly affected his ability to run the Club.
We still haven’t won the GF so I say the new owners should sell up and move on!
We want silverware now !

| Hopefully there’ll be a bit of positivity around the place now.
I sincerely thank AP for 2016, and steering the club through Covid, but there’s been a lot of negativity coming out of the club over the last three or so years.
Combined with abysmal performances, it’s been difficult to be enthusiastic about the club.
Hopefully the new ownership, under RM, can reenergise us all.

| Dan Tomlinson summed it up when he said Pearson had left in us in the same state as when he took over. I'm not one to join the love in about him, Kath and Co got us to two cc finals (one win) and one grand final and gave us the best team we've had in the kc stadium era, Pearson got us to two finals with two wins. Imo the Kath era was better. But that's the past - now we look to the future

There’s a big difference between a ‘love in’ and bit of realism about the situation we found ourselves in. IMO the rot set in a couple of years before, but Covid was the final nail in the coffin and meant that there was absolutely no way the club could continue to compete in SL without outside money coming in. It was that simple.
Everyone knew that, thankfully pretty much all supporters were sensible enough to realise this and not make too much of a hostile environment and the club seemingly navigated it to now be on more of a level playing field with the new owners. It could have gone the way of Salford easily and people are rightfully giving AP at least a bit of credit for that.

I was talking to Adam last night he said amongst a lot of other things that "the last two years just about broke him" and he wasn't talking just cash either. When in the future if the the truth comes out people will realise just what our owner went through post pandemic and over the last two years and how easy it would have been to walk and leave us in a real hole but he kept to his word and now leaves us potentially in the best state we have been in financially in our history as a Club. he had his critics me included at times and he made some poor decisions, and oversaw an unthinkable decline but I think he at least deserves some thanks for ensuring everyone at the club was paid during covid and for keeping us afloat and being hell bent on finding the right buyers and leaving us as rich as any club in the game. Just my thoughts of course! And obviously not everyone's on here, but that's what this board is about isn't it?

| It's obviously Pearson ran out of money and covid really hit the club hard. Wish he would have just been honest and sai this. Some terrible coached followed with terrible recruitment, Reynolds, Gale, Evans. The diaster of 2024 recruitment. Buy he kept us afloat a d it looks like he has found up some new owners who like rugby and are keen to make us challenge again.

Great post Wilf, very heartfelt sentiments there.
It's easy for supporters (myself included here) to lash out when all appears to be falling apart. All of us on this board have vented our spleen over the past couple of years about the club's situation and, unfortunately, it tends to be owners or coaches who get the most flak coming their way as they are the ones stood in the firing line with their heads above the parapet.
As your post perfectly describes, in situations like these there is also a human element to it, which I think we supporters can have a habit of overlooking or disregarding as we cast around for answers. People like Adam don't buy and invest in a sporting club lightly, and it's not as if there is millions to made out of a rugby league club, no matter how successful they may be (Wigan in the nineties being a case in point). I'm sure Adam suffered as much as us these recent times, possibly more so given his heavy financial burden, he certainly looked like a man under strain through last season.
I've only met him once briefly (through a relative), but he seemed a decent man and gave the impression to me that he had the club's best interests at heart, but events clearly conspired, particularly from 2020 onwards, to alter the landscape of how he could operate the club as best he could. Certainly he has looked like a man with a huge weight suddenly lifted from his shoulders ever since the news was announced about the change of ownership and that has to be good for him personally. Hopefully he can continue to watch the club in the future without the enormous weight of responsibility on his shoulders anymore.
I suspect Wilf, you know a great deal more about the back story to Adam's situation these past two/three years, more than the rest of us on here, but that is private conversations between you and Adam and not for general publication. I wouldn't expect you too either, too much of a Gentleman to betray confidences. But your post reminds us all that there is always a human element to these stories with people trying to do what they believe is right for all concerned. I do think we fans can sometimes lose sight of another human being trying their best in difficult circumstances (human nature I suppose!) but your post above has reminded everyone that there is always more to these stories than any of us fully know and we really should act accordingly.
Great post, nice one Wilf

Agree it's very level in terms of performance between the Kath and Pearson eras. I make it average place 6th under Kath (counting 2011 as still that era) and average 7th under Pearson so not a lot in it.
Pearson did get us to a 3rd final though, we sometimes forget 2013 in the dreary rain.

Wembley 2013, eh!!!
If ever the weather matched the mood of a set of supporters, it was us that afternoon. I believe the grammatical term is 'pathetic fallacy' (weather conditions describing a situation).
Flaming depressing (polite version) would be more accurate to capture how we all felt trudging around, soaking wet through, as the elusive dream remained out of our reach once more. Good things come to all who wait though
Agree with you about the Kath and Adam eras. In the end there wasn't much in it, either in terms of league placings or Cup finals reached. Highs and lows in roughly equal measures really, along with the usual Fc sense that we continue to fail to realise our true potential. Maybe that time is still to come, let's hope so

He may have wanted to walk but couldnt until he found a way to have his loans repaid and the only way out was to sell part or the whole club.
He made lots of mistakes but his heart was always in the club and he tried which is all you can ask of an owner

| I did say, in July - August, that none of this was Adam’s money and that he was stepping down.
I remember receiving an email from inside the Club saying everything was going to be all right.
It was from Adam himself and at that point I knew he was setting us up nicely
Wizeb will love this - I made an offer to buy a very small percentage of the Club but mine was too small a % to be considered.
Oh well alas but I think Thirkill has a bigger wedge than me that’s for sure !
Think Old Kent Road v Mayfair with hotels

| Thrikhill saying to Hull live that Nigel Wood had said that Hull are only one of 3 clubs capable of crowds of 15k.
Now Nigel's maths are never that great...but I do agree we have potential there's a good few thousand who haven't been attending because games have be awful, atmosphere makes it a poor day out etc.
My plan would be to spend 2025 sorting the foundations out then maybe we do something dramatic with the season pass prices for 2026 to win people back. Or bring back the prizes for hitting certain targets that we did when Pearson first took over, holiday to Australia if we sell 10k etc etc.
In the fans forum it was also mentioned we can actually pay to have branding at the stadium but had chosen not to. But I'd assume any 'revamp' of the stadium would hinge on whatever is happening with Acun's plan for a sport village and the lease discussions.
