In a word, yes. Why would you sell a player if you cant replace him with similar quality. Unless you've got money troubles that is.

I'd be more worried about Ben Crooks' reluctance to sign a long term deal with the club.

I know 'we' wouldn't sell him, but, we don't run the club! How many players have left us and we haven't replaced like for like? Brough, Cooke, Kearney, Briscoe, Manu, Moa (Even Turner)! In the past ten years there are Numerous! It wouldn't shock me at all if this happened and we replaced him with Ade Gardner!

If he has another season like this one he could doubled his salary, if he hasn't signed an extension in a year then worry.

Very good news he's contracted for 2 more years. Not sure there's that much urgency to extend, but obviously this time next year would be hoping to do so.

Lets not start looking for dramas that aren't there.
Think people need to pull together for a while.
FC fans always seem to look for the negative. Contrast that to the Dobbins fans who seem to blindly (or stupidly) put a positive spin on anything that happens at their club.
Crooks and Lineham aren't going anywhere just yet. Lets worry about something else more immediate.

If players are going to get greedy and press to get a huge wedge then I don't care who they are I'd rather we sold them for a decent fee a year (or more) before there contract ends and let someone who wants to play for the club without holding us to ransom.
If you allow players whom think their value is far beyond what is reasonable to dictate matters then that impacts massively on the whole squad make-up (I.E. it restricts whom and the depth we can employ)

This is why some high earners (Ellis for example) take more than their actual worth to the team as a whole.

Either the accountants at some clubs are very imaginitive in their figures so they can employ far greater depth than us or they have a better more rigid pay structure such as at Leeds.

Iirc every one of those players you've named were ooc and not sold. Well apart from Brough who was let go & not sold + obviously Cooke because there was never a contract. Who was the last player we sold that we wanted to keep?

its a load of tosh they have shown interest in a winger off us but that was briscoe.
