| With his injury record it was always going to be a gamble. Unless there was a fitness clause in place a 3 year deal was poor judgement.

| what we all just wanted too see from the new regime was passion on the field and ambition off it and although we'll have to wait a month to assess the first bit this news today certainly means that although it might be hard getting the best players to Hull in general and Hull FC in particular we can match anyone with the offer we make. Love the guy as I have always done, but I don't think Marc will come back although the lure of having a pop at being our highest ever goal kicker etc and returning as a hero to finish his days at the FC might be a draw but if he really did move to Salford for family reasons Leigh would be a better bet for him. Although I do believe that the owners who have an obvious eye for business see this possible signing as a way of boosting season ticket sales further.
However the actions of the last 24 hours do for me at least show that a) we have ambition. b) we have a good business ethic and are willing to back the coach and spend the cash if we need to and it befits the Club as a commercial enterprise and c) (as we saw with Walker) the coach will be fair and honest in his dealings with the players but if hard decision have to be made the sentimental approach which has cost us dearly in the past has now left the club. At least Mr Myler and Co give us something to talk about!

| Just when we thought it was a quiet spell...
I have never agreed with the Abdull signing he is too injury prone and several coaches have tried and failed to keep his weight down.
Sneyd would be a great short term measure but we must remember he is now 33 and not very fast (neither is Sezer) so need to watch we don't tie ourselves down and be stuck with an aging slow halfback paring for two long.
Other option is we start the season with Cust/Charles and gamble someone becomes available later.

Sneyd would be a great signing for 2 seasons. He has a good fitness record and he was playing great last season. He is better than any half we have had since he left.
Charles is not the answer this season. After being thrown in at the deep end last year, he needs to go out on loan for a season in the Championship and develop his trade without the pressure of the SL.

| [quote="Dave K.":3i81k8yh]I don't get the different foot but, how many RL clubs have one right and one left footed kicker?
Get the other points though.
Charles is the same age as Farimond, so would be a pointless signing, lCharles would look good in Wogans side for the odd game, but neither are ready to play regularly especially in Hulls current side[/quote:3i81k8yh]
I'm sure very few clubs have one left footer and one right footer but its a way of giving the side an edge. Inevitably if you have two right footers or two left footers, one of the two plays on a side where half of the field is essentially blocked off to the long kick. A big part of Wigan's recent success was putting Bevan French in the halves and whilst he's clearly a great player in lots of ways, him having a right foot kicking game gave us a different option which was so valuable when teams put pressure on Harry Smith.
The thinking behind Farrimond would be that he could share the role of the second halfback with Charles and perhaps could benefit both. Plus he's a running threat which Hull are lacking atm.
Also, Cust was bloody awful when he played on the right for Wigan. His best spell was on the left in early 2022 when Tommy Leuluai was still in the side.
Was it the right decision to move Jake Trueman on given the situation Hull are in now?
