See that's how I see you, I just don't like you - I see you as a serial moaner. All you do is throw tantrums and then expect others to put it right. Sorry but I just can't be doing with you.
See that's the problem with forums - the "idiots" that's me get to say what we want and that really winds up the self important.

There is history here if you know what I mean but I can see why you'd see it as OTT.

Any chance of getting these threads cleaned up so we can discuss the original topic or do we just have to read "handbags at dawn" every day?
Will it be Liam Finn or an Aussie/Kiwi scrum half that is coming? Loads of rumours.
It makes a nice change for us to be surprised by some of the signings instead of it getting leaked a month before the announcement.

Deary me that's rich. Nothing anonymous about me nor am I hiding 12,000 miles away.
Nothing petulant, I just don't like the posters attitude.
Your amature analysis of my personality from 12,000 miles away is especially amusing.
Just as an aside, living in Oz doesn't make you our resident NRL expert - that one is getting especially dull.

| I am not a big fan of Liam Finn.
Didn't do much for us last time, maybe that is partly due to the fact that he came from a struggling side that got relegated, to us who always were earmarked for relegation.
After a bit of thinking, i don't think if he signs should be used just as a half back, i believe he could do a job at hooker.
The modern game, unless you are an exceptional talent, requires the player to be versatile and a club like Wake needs quite a few utility players to get value for money.

| Pudsey Cat makes a good point. I'd prefer not to clean up but just get back on track.
We are talking about our potential new half back. Let's keep to it.
Personally I'd be ok with Liam Finn. It's not all about the individual but more how he fits in the team dynamic. We haven't had a running scrum half for a while anyway so no loss.
If he can take the tram around the park with McShane and Wildie we have others who can run.
Deryck Fox and Paul Deacon always did ok with a passing and kicking game. No sprint from them.

| Of all positions to debate, I'm inclined to believe Agar will get a good fit for the team at half back.
He was pretty good himself without being Andrew Johns and knows what is needed.
You can see that is why he likes a big pack. As a half back that is very important to you.
I can't imagine he will build a team and then just settle for anything in this position.
If it's Finn, I assume Agar has considered the decision and chosen who he thinks is best.
Depends who is out there. I'm sure he wants it sorting soon.

| Would be tempted to see If any of the Bulls half backs come free. The board wanted them to take à 10% cut players refused and offered to defer their wages but board said no. Could some walk for free just get off wage bill.

As jack in the box said, if they won’t take a 10% pay cut at Bradford they unlikely to agree to possibly even less money to sign for Trinity.

Bradford could offer the same, they may have already. The players say no deal.

| I think you guys need more at half back than a 33 year old centre and a 30 year old with limited SL experience.
Cream over your pack all you want, yeah it's shaped up pretty well, but you won't win very many games without quality in the halves.
Each hour that passes is an hour nearer the season and less and less will become available. Sykes and Finn would be basically sound, but painfully slow and have virtually no flair.
To say lacking pace and flair is fine as long as you kick well is a very naive way of looking at the sport. Leeds do the "5 drives and kick" game plan very well but they'd still a golden boot winner playing half back all year, cause it sounds WAAAAY easier than what it is. To think you can get Finn and Sykes to do that at the top level and "grind out results" ....well, good luck I suppose

| Bring back Finn would be as daft as bringing back Tiger handforth. Infact whilst we are in such a stupid mindset lets also consider Paul March if he's still in training.

Another expert - and I thought I was the only one
Why bag a player before he even starts - I don't get it. Further to that we have had more success with Finn type players than any other. In fact Sykes was one of those and to use your expression people were creaming themselves over him after a few games. Teams shape up in all sorts of strange ways.

why do you persist on thinking people assume they're experts, just becasue they have an opinion they stand by?
I'm not an expert and don't claim to be.
And I'm not bagging him as a player, not in the slightest. I just think at 30 it'll be hard to adapt to SL level rugby. I also think it'd be easier if he had a quality stand-off to operate with, and I don't think Sykes is that.
To me Sykes and Finn wouldn't compliment each other - both are decent readers of a game from HB, and you then have a team leader and a SL veteran.
HOWEVER.... Both would make painfully slow SL half-backs, and neither have any flair. Also from what I saw in the WC, Finn's kicking game went to pieces when he played against quality opposition, so I fear your kicking game would suffer.
Not disrespecting anyone, I just think they'd be a really weak SL pairing at HB

Because you're not expressing it as an opinion in this case - it's an assumption which you can only really have if your an expert or a clairvoyant.
I just can't see how people like you and others can talk with such authority and sureness about a circumstance you have virtually no knowledge of, and that applies to me, you, Jack in the Box and all.
We don't know the players, train them and know the team dynamics so why people are so quick to condemn I just don't get.
It's like me asking a mechanic to tell me what's wrong with my car from a photo it's that daft IMHO. You can have an opinion on a player but for me you can't claim to know whether he will succeed or fail.
Maybe it's me and I overvalue professionals and under value the ability of forum members

And I didn't say one way or the other.
To satisfy your first paragraph...... It is my opinion that they won't compliment each other at half back due to (in my opinion, from what I have seen) their lack of pace, flair, and kicking against quality opposition.
I may be right I may be wrong, either way I will tell you, or rather you can tell me, in September
As for speaking with authority, I honestly honestly HONESTLY think it's the tone which you take in your head when reading other's posts.
We are all guilty of thinking we are experts of rugbly league. Ultimately top level coaches aren't right 100% of the time, and it'd be a very bad one who would assume so.

| Heard we are also talking to Dave Wrench to see if he fancies another season. He used to run well off Liam Finn the last time they were both at the club. This was also on twitter so it must have some truth in it.
