Having thought about this I wouldn't blame Anakin if he took the job offer and go part time. I'd say on balance it's the right choice but who knows for certain.

I know I'll upset some on here but looking at it from his point of view.

Chris is a victim of the genetic arms race that is SL. People wax lyrical as to his brave and dynamic running at the line and so they should. However he's 26 now, how long does anyone seriously think he can sustain that kind of punishment?

I know there are smaller build players who thrive but that's partly down to them developing a style and again genetics. These players are usually built from concrete, they are freakish in their ability not to get hurt. From what I've seen, Anakin hasn't got that gift. He's no sick note and certainly isn't soft but he's fairly mortal where injuries are concerned.

If he carries on with his current style of play at this level against some huge men he'll be a wreck long before his contracts done. If there is a plan to modify his game and make it less impact reliant then fine but to continue as a battering ram and possibly miss out on a long term future career mmm.

Finally I can't imagine that the money we will offer him will be so great that playing part time and learning a trade won't equal it. In fact he may do better financially, I can imagine Anakin to be a hot property at that level.

Obviously I don't know the guy or how he thinks. I'm just putting myself in his shoes. Not an easy choice for the lad tbh.

Delighted with this lot of admiration for him after the O'Loughlin tackle and how he bounced back. The lad runs full steam ahead even as a newcomer hes a wrecking ball. Think he will still improve with a good off season and 3 bags of creatine pure down his gullet. I like him. Crowther not taking his chance when Ive seen him unlike Annakin and Batch.

Any news on Hirst yet? Got told today he'd signed for Hudds for next season, obviously this could be complete guff!

I have no idea if it's true but what is it with Shudds. What a parasite club they are at times especially with us. Doesn't matter who it is if we have it they want it .

60-70 ish games for Annakin in comparison to about 10 for Jordy, you can't really compare them

Good move for Jordan. Plenty of game time under a very good coach. Should come back bigger, better and stronger.

Plenty of time to become a SL regular as Anakin has just proved.

Shame that BLM, everytime Ive seen him get a chance, hes always given his all and looked the part.

Having said that, hes just recently signed an extended deal, so his long term future is obvuously with us, it might be just a case of giving him more game time to aid his development.

Not really, they were considered surplus to requirement at Hudds and were not going to be offered new contracts. So I don't think we took them.

Assuming we planned to keep Hirst then they are as ever pinching players . Personally think what we did and what allegedly Hudds are doing are ethically two separate things.

It's not even what they are doing it's how often they do it. It's a sheer lack of imagination if nothing else.

Have to say though it shows a staggering lack of ambition from Hudds, maybe the Davey money is running out. I like Hirst but considering Hudds supposedly being an ambitious club I wouldn't say Hirst fits that bill.

They don't have much cap space after paying Jake Mamo 170k a year.

That would be offset with the departure of Sam Rapira fwiw.
