You may prefer him in the middle but I prefer him in the middle or edge. I believe he can play a both to a good standard and I think it’s good to have those options that’s all.

Not totally correct. Yes for the early and mid part but he improved a lot the final 3rd when Dave came back. Did put in a few solid and good performances at the back end.

I’m sure he will be motivated to continue his uplift in form into SL.

Let’s be honest here , the team/club weren’t up to much that fateful year . Our major signing turned out to be a damp squib ,a constant turnstile of players on 2 weeks contracts was not conducive to great rugby . Thankfully I feel that relegation was the best thing to ever happen to this club in the last 20+ years, and a much brighter future is now assured

Started off poor but got into some good form once Fifita returned and gave him some inspiration and confidence.

We are re-entering the fray at a great time Imo , lots of the big clubs are in a state of flux and I feel will take some years to get back to their best . If the opening fixtures are kind and we can get some points under our belts early doors ,our confidence will sky rocket and settle us in nicely.

Agree 100% Ketty, I know it’s another season but there will be some clubs in the SL who need a big clear out and will not bring the quality that they want, so hopefully wakey will pick these clubs off

Liked the look of Rourke yesterday, isn't what you would class as particularly quick but because he has a very easy balanced running style he is able to cover ground quickly, made a superb cover tackle to stop what looked a certain try, was sound under kicks in defence, and can get up High to apply pressure on attacking kicks.
One area I felt he needs to improve upon is chiming into the line, there were one or two issues with it yesterday where he came at the wrong time or he came in, got the ball and didn't really seem sure of what to do next, that hesitation enabled the defence to recover. Have to say a couple of problems were caused by poor decisions by the halves for example the SO gave him a ball out on the flanks which resulted in Rourke being picked up by about 4-5 defenders and carried into touch, when you watched the replay from a different and wider angle there were no other London Bronchials players on that side, so why run that play?
Think he will be a useful acquisition for us though

Do not think we will find it easy as that ,we are a team who have made signing of player's who have not played in S L ,some of the new signings are average and it looks like we are taking back players into S L who were past it when we were last there .Your Huddersfield and Hull will be a lot stronger next year and think now we would find it hard to beat the rest of S L Do not think it is going to be the cake walk some fans are expecting

I dont agree, in general, we have a decent pack that should hold its own with anyone. I am happy with 1 to 5 . However I do have doubts about our halves. I think our fate lies in the hands of Lino,Russel and Truman, I hope Powell faith in all three works.

There has been a few blow out scores this weekend, and there is what looks like a bit of a gulf at the moment in quality of some clubs.

With what we have so far, I think we have a competitive squad, but probably not top 6. We know there are some to add, and who knows, we could have some surprises up our sleeves. I do keep hearing that Lino is going, and if that is the case, would not be surprised to see another half coming in.

Having read some comments on SM after we clinched the shield, there has been a few salty comments from the usual suspects, and wouldn't be surprised if some under estimate us.

Possibly the most important position on the field is hooker and that's where we need to strengthen,imo.Hood has been a good servant but
we require better in SL next season.Doyle is looking like he's got what it takes but next year is possibly too soon.Same with Smith,but further away.Not sure if he's available and we could fit him in,but as I've mentioned before,Parcell would take us to another level.Forget age,he looks as good as ever and doing nearly a full game for KR most matches.

Let's not exaggerate, he had 3/4 good games but still wasn't as good as a 34 year old who'd retired the season before.

He looks leaner and is playing well this year, but we need to remember the quality of the opposition. He's a lot to prove in my opinion.

I'd say he's well ahead of Vagana at the moment. Vagana was unlucky with his injury so I think it'll be next season before we see the best of him. Showed some good signs today though.

Also, I'd put good money on us beating London, Hull and Huddersfield right now, the last two especially are dire. Who are all these players that are gonna make Huddersfield and Hull a lot stronger next year? Hull seems to have got together an over 33 side, yeah there are a couple of decent signings there but that's about it, Hudderfield has signed one of the Burgess Twins, who plays about 20 minutes a game nowadays. If he was much cop his brother would have snapped him up to play for Wire. Marsters and Yates Hudds best 2 players this year, one gone and the other is going. They signed a number of overseas at the start of the year on 3 and 2-year contracts, like Clune, Deakin and Murchie and so it's going to be hard for them to make room on the cap to sort that team out imo.

Whoever has said SL is going to be a cakewalk next season? I've never heard it once, so why make things up? The most I've heard fans hope for is if we made the top 6, but many also would be happy with a competitive top 8, that also would be a good starting point.

Can't beat one of our own fans bigging up rival clubs and cvonstantly crapping all over our team and new signings, why bother watching?

Their overseas quota’s full so not sure how they’d manage that. For what it’s worth I think Doyle is ready for SL, but agree we could do with someone to spell and back up for Doyle if he gets a knock. I really rate Smith but for next year at least he’s a 30 mins per game off the bench type of hooker, like most good hookers when they first come through.

I wouldn’t be disappointed if we kept hold of Hood for another year and get an answer to the question of whether he can keep up in SL. His defence is still top drawer, he’s just not very dynamic on the ball. Parcell would be a slight improvement - but good enough for a quota spot?

Agree completely. With our 1-19 available we’d beat London, Hull, Huddersfield and Cas now. Or looked at another way, if any of those teams were in the Championship this year they would have lost more than one game. Throw in McMeeken, Johnstone, Hall, Trueman et al and I think we’re mixing it with Leeds, Leigh, Catalans on a bad day, and picking off a few top teams here and there. For me there’s not much pressure, I’m just looking forward to seeing Rodwell run over James Bentley.
