He's earned it this past 2 months. Showing some good form. His impact from the bencch has been very positive lately. Good job.

Impressed with him when you played us. Not spectacular but solid and hard working, the type of player that every team needs.

He has been excellent and earned a new deal. Was ready to write him off not so long back.

I'm sure Hirst will be sorted soon as well

If it is Anakin I reckon Belly is paying the difference out of his own pocket. Seriously though I do think the faith some have shown in him has begun to pay off.

Thats true, but seems to be establishing himself as a first choice member of the 1-17, all else being equal cant see him going anywhere else with that chance, although leeds are desperate for forwards under the retirement age so you never know....

After two years in the wilderness has been great since he came back from injury.

Along with many others he has been improving rapidly this season and he was absolutely busting a gut at Salford. Looked great in both attack and defence and muscled up well against bigger opposition.

Are we talking Anakin or Hirst, lost track of it a bit



Generally speaking it's funny how we see it differently. Me and my lad though we looked a much bigger team than Salford especially in the front row.

Can't think of many props who are much bigger than Hirst. But Anakin, yep defy punched above his weight.

Not seen the Salford game but against Cas he was running it in like a man possessed, great to see! Didn't realise he had other offers on the table, let's hope he stays loyal to the Trin who I feel tbh have been loyal to him albeit with just 12 month extensions (unless I'm mistaken) previously. A 2 year deal shows he's won the coaching team over.

Annakin is one of those this year who could've faded into the lower leagues.

I'm very pleased he's looking like the player we all wanted him to be. Hope he signs the extension and becomes a valuable impact player off the bench for us.

Hope to hear something about Hirst too soon.

I'm pleased he's been offered a contract. He's earned it but if HE declines it, then we move on without him.

Maybe he'll get the chance to get a bit of payback on SOL in the Wigan game. That game could be set up quite nicely for a tasty encounter.

I am sure it is entirely coincidental that contract negotiations will have been taking place at the same time.
I look forward to him displaying the same level of performance with that 2 year contract in his back pocket...

I think that's a little harsh to say he's only upped his game of late to earn a contract!

All Annakin has been is unlucky with injuries and struggled to get a good, consistent run in the side...to come back from what could have been a career ending car accident he's done fantastically well and his hard work and effort has now been rewarded for his excellent form now he's had a sustained run in the side...

His effort and enthusiasm both taking the ball in and in defence is infectious....you only have to watch a rerun of the million pound game to see how his efforts can lift the team...

According to news now he's had an offer of an apprenticeship and would like to take that up and play part time with a championship side.

If that's the case then you can't hold it against him. Rugby players only have a short career and if this provides Chris with a skill which can serve him in later life then good luck to him. I feel it may be a waste of his opportunity though. He could feasibly be one the rare one club men
