I hope we get took over, it'll be a few years too late but it's better late than never. Even if we didn't get the money for qualifying for the CL, the draw of CL football is a large one, I'm sure Man City will have a great summer this year once they qualify for the CL. We'll probably have to had a bit more money on for wages/signing on fees now we don't have CL football, and who's to say 'top players' will want to come and play Europa league football, if that?

True. I'm pretty confident Torres and Mascherano will be here next year, but how we go about our business in the summer should see for how long. If we do get took over and we get some serious investment, like Rafa said, three top players at least, as well as a few squad players. If we spend similarly to the past few summers, where we've not really developed the squad, then I can see them both wanting to leave, simply because the club aren't matching their ambitions.

City look very, very good going forward. On current form can only see one outcome next weekend.

Superb week for us. Man Utd and Arsenal go out of Europe. We beat Villa 3-0 to reach the FA Cup Final. Man Utd drop 2 points against Blackburn. Scousers drop two points against Foolham to make it very difficult for them to get 4th place. Pompey beat Tottenham to mean it's an easier FA Cup final for us.

Merseyside police have refused to comment on rumours Rafael Benitez and Sammy Lee attempted to smuggle a corpse onboard a flight to Europe at Liverpool airport. The dead man was allegedly in a wheelchair and wearing sunglasses.

Is Torres out for the season? If so, surely with something like a knee injury, he may miss the world cup? I remember reading a while back fallings out between our medical staff and Spain's, as we wanted Torres to go through some kind of operation in the off season, whilst Spain wanted it done a few months ago so he'd make the world cup. I'm not sure if this is the one, but I'll be gutted for us and him if he's out for the season and misses the world cup.

We don't beat Bolton and lose to Spurs next week and you could be back on top of the table next week. I said ages ago that there would still be plenty of twists and turns in the title race and there's been even more than I thought there would be. I'd hope that we're going to race to the double now but on the evidence of this season I don't think that's going to happen.

Bosman, I think. His contract is up at Standard, I've read mixed reviews on him. You're obviously not gonna get a world class striker on a Bosman, but I think the best striker available on a free this summer was Chamakh, and he rejected us. I've never really seen Jovanovic, but most of the people on the form say he'll be a solid squad player who could surprise a few people when he plays, whilst some others have totally ruled him out as not good enough.

I've seen no confirmation about Torres' injury yet but going by Benitez's comments, it doesn't look good. Let us all pray that he wins us the Europa League, goes for an op, misses the World Cup and has a summer of rest for once!
