| Since the playoffs started one team has been eliminated each week, but this year there are two teams knocked out each week. What does this mean for the final standings? For example, how is it decided who ends up 5th and who ends up 6th between Huddersfield and either us or KR? Is it based on league position at the end of the regular season?

I'd say it's obvious that it would be on league positions between the 2 teams eliminateed each week, but you never know with RFL formats.

The way you have to look at is the final standings are the ones from the end of the regular season ( and in reality the top team should be Super league champions)
The playoffs are in effect a separate Cup competition and should be treated this way by the RFL

| Cas have apparently got paid for finishing 8th, which I'm guessing is because they were the lowest ranked team knocked out so in the RFL's eyes finished 8th not 7th

| The play-offs aren't a separate competition and are used to determine final standings for 2009.
At the moment:
8th Cas
7th Wakey
6th Hull KR/Wigan (loser of tonight)
5th Shuddersfield
2 teams go out every week at the moment and the team that week with highest place from the weekly rounds finishes higher than the other, hence why Shuddersfield will finish above the loser tonight.

At the momentYeah thats how I read it as well.
On the flip side a win today for either of us gives that team at least 3rd.

Not if Catalans got to the final and either of us got beat in the semi.
That way we'd be 4th.
I suppose it doesn't really matter at the end of the day. Every side will be dissapointed if they don't make the final.
