Tuggles, you are the first to mention Powell on this thread, maybe its because he suffered an unfortunate injury a couple of weeks ago.
It is said that he suffered a broken leg.

| Quote ="bewareshadows"I really don't think Prescott and Lima are going to be able to hold this side together. If I was Saints coach, I'd be bringing out the following pack
Perry Roby LMS
TP Sia
Flanaghan
[uThis would be by far our most agressive pack and whilst your two boys maybe able to handle Perry and LMS, they cannnot cover all 6[/u. It would be effectively like having to handle 4 props all at once and Sia, LMS and TP can all shift when they bust through. I doubt we will go with this as Wilkin is a certain to start, but even with Wilkin is does not stop the impact from our big 4. That would leave us with Flanaghan, Flannery, Clough and Megennis. Why maybe not household names they should be more than able to handle themselves at this level and [iFlanaghan inparticular can really crunch a few in the tackle[/i. Both benches lack strike players, but our 4 can certainly hold the line and did so last week and the week before.
Hock would be the one player we will need to wrap up as he can create 2nd phase but we have tacklers who should be able to wrap him up man and ball.'"
[uthis would be true but they arn't the only two players playing in the pack you forgot to mention hock, hansen and o'loughlin.[/u
no it isn't because sia isn't a prop its like saying hasen is a prop just isn't true just very strong 2nd rows, lms is a prop so cant disagree, tp up against hock will be a good battle both as strong as each other.
[iflash is a cruncher some times but tommy, micky mac and tuson arn't no slouchers[/i
i aint a fortune teller so i dont know what will happen but i know one thing it wont just be preckie and pumba tackleing alone. personal i think the forwards will be a very good battle and let the better side win.

| Quote ="FIOS"I would definately keep Lima on the bench.
I see Lima, Mossop and Prescott as our main props, with all of them fit it doesnt matter who starts on the bench etc but with one of them out we need to have one starting and one on the bench because if we have to bring 2 of them off and replace them with the lesser props then we lose any fire power that we had in that match. It happened in the opening game vs Huddersfield, we started with Mossop and Lima and when those two came off and Flower and Lauaki came on we got absolutely bullied by their pack.
We need to keep one of Prescott and Lima on the pitch at all times on Friday.
Gutted the Ginger Pearl is out, he has been in fantastic form recently.'"

| Spencer injured, Hanson starts at Prop, Tuson starts in 2nd row, Lima and Dudson on bench the m,ain question is gelling, hughes or mellor on the bench. Any 2 from 3. Gelling to miss out i think.

| So what is going to happen without Lockers? Have 3 props (Prescott, Lima and Dudson) and leave Hansen, Hock, Tuson and Hughes to play in the back row?
I suppose he could play Gelling in the back row but his defence really doesn't fill me with much confidence.
He could also play Mike McIlorum at loose forward, Leuluai at hooker with Mellor in the halves.

| Lockers out is a disaster.
That means Tuson to start at 13, hughes or gelling in 2nd row, logan on to bench to spell micky mac.
So who would you play in 2nd row, hughes or gelling?

he has excelled in that position before. Will also allow him to free roam as he sees fit.

| If Spencer is fit it would free us up to move Hansen back to second row. I heard he was struggling with a sternum injury though? Massive games needed from Hansen, Lima, Prescott and Hock.

I'd agree with this but6 Spencer in for Logan if he's fit. Mellor will need to show more confidence and get himself involved if he plays. Against Widnes he went missing a bit and tried to let Finch do everything. I'm gutted about all the injuries but it will hopefully get the players and fans up for it even more and create a 'siege mentality' like you said.

Spencer being fit would allow us to move Hansen back into the back row and wouldn't leave us short.

I'd go with the above. We've hot a hell of lot out through injury and the last thing we want to do is disrupt the team further with a mass of positional changes. I just hope everyone in the remaining 19 is fit. Still a good team that if only a little inexperienced.

The 13 is strong but the bench is very very weak in my opinion. Think this could be a great occasion for Mellor to introduce himself on the biggest stage

That team is the strongest one possible, but it all depends on Spencer being fit. If he misses out then positional changes might be the only option.

Agreed. From what we all heard earlier in the week Spencer didn't stand a chance of playing and now he's integral to us fielding a strong team IMO.
Like I say I just hope the remaining 19 are all fit and we don't suffer any more withdrawals. That teams still capable of winning, but anymore absentees and we'll struggle big time. Fingers crossed Pat and Tommy make it, and then last the 80.
