| Even after the day that club has had, reading through cockney latic and their fans are still bagging IL and saying they would never go again if he bought them. Unreal. I hope he doesn't buy them, have it your way and see where you end up. Don't let the door hit you on the way out..................oh.... and GET OFF OUR PITCH!!

Bullitt & Bickymon off there are two of the biggest knuckle dragging neanderthals with enough chips on their shoulders to supply McDonalds for a year. The fact that they would rather abandon "their" club than see it under IL's ownership shows what type of folk they are.
I feel sorry for the true latics fans who right now just want to see their football club playing next month, regardless of who the opposition are. I feel nothing for the knuckledraggers mentioned above, who would be dancing on our grave right now if it were the Warriors who had gone bust.

The council would end up buying the remaining 85% for a knock-down price if it came to it.. Even though there are upkeep costs, having 40 sporting fixtures there a year, plus anything else that it can be hawked out for could make it pay for itself. Plus, there is no way on earth they'd allow two sporting teams in Wigan to become homeless.
The sticking point is at the moment it comes along with a loss-making football club who are about to lose most of their saleable assets, still have massive outgoings and have no income stream for the next 6 months.

From what I can see in the accounts the stadium Management company has debts of >£5m to the football club and previous owners.
The Administrator will have a duty to realise assets to repay creditors. I amagine there are restrictive covenants around use of the land on which the stadium is built which could render it pretty worthless for redevelopment.
The assets could be sold to a party that charges rent large enough to make it breakeven which could be bad news for the Warriors. Does anyone know whether the lease the Warriors has provides for periodic rent reviews?

Not sure if it mentions the charges or not though (I wouldn't imagine that it does)
We make next to no income from the stadium but we also pay next to nothing. If a new deal could be made to at least take some of more of the income it would be a benefit for the club.
The administrators at Latics have said that the only asset they would be willing to sell at the moment would be Sharpy's. That would make a superb supporters club for the rugby. Already set out as a bar, already has a kitchen. Open it on matchdays both home and away (show the game on the TVs when we are on Sky away from home) and a few times a week to show any other RL Sky such as origin, Internationals, Thursday night games or simply a classic Wigan game. Hold a few events there as well and you're on to a real winner.
Just don't let the Riversiders reserve all the tables and interview any players

I know, but it's a drink in a sports hall and offers no income away from a match day.
If we had a proper "club" such as the Aussie model then we could show all the games this season that fans aren't allowed to attend and would be making money off the back of it. (Too late for this to happen now of course)
Going forward, for example, if we play Hull away on a Thursday we will take a few hundred at best. If we opened the club, showed the game with a bit of food on then we would fill the place with those that can't make it.
Imagine beating Saints on Good Friday and having a club to go back to and celebrate that stays open all day rather than for an hour and charges ovet the odds for crap ale.

I agree with all that, the developing of a Aussie type supporters club would be a good earner. A club for all Wigan fans with no cliques (were better fans than you) taking over.

According to the latest update: [urlhttps://www.wigantoday.net/sport/football/wigan-athletic-worries-hopes-and-what-happens-next-2942347[/url that's quite likely to happen. Tick tock.

| IL would be stupid to buy Wigan. He already has a club that has no assets and generates no profits, ergo is worthless so why would he want to waste money on another club the same?
