I know 2 years ago they couldn't sell out the South Stand and had to leave 250/500 seats empty.

I've never been entirely convinced that there are any safety reasons for holding back 500 tickets for both of the end stands (unallocated seats?????). In fact I think it's absolutely ridiculous.

For safety and comfort reasons we have gone to an all seater stadium which should satisfy all the jobsworths, and then they come up with arguments to say that it's not safe to have all the seats sat on.

It's because its unreserved. If a gang of 10 lads turn up at last minute but their is only single seats dotted about they'll stand around rather than search out the single seats. If two gangs of 10 lads do it etc etc it starts becoming a safety issue.

Yeah, it does make you wonder why having strips of empty seats at the two extreme ends of the stand is going to do much good in the event of a fire or a crush or a terrorist bomb or whatever. Surely the middle section is where disaster is most likely to strike.

stadium passed safety checks before it opened, instaled X number of seats per stand (as per safety guidelines) , so whats the poing in having empty seats?

if this is a genuine reason then remove some seats, because imo its more dangerous having empty seats to fall over.

only other reason could be that tto sell out the stand would overcrowd it and make evacuation procedures unable to cope.
but that would have been covered in the original plans by health and safety.
i can see no valid reason why they cant sell the lot.

If its RESERVED seating it could be sold out fully. For the reasons I explained on the last page.

It doesn't matter what the stewards do. It's not a JJB Stadium this it's a law across at any ground. When it's unreserved they have to leave gaps for health & safety reasons. The South wasn't full that time they announced 25,004 for a Good Friday a few years back either.

i remember taking my 5 and 6 yr olds to central park for first time and they took a can of pop each.

they had free tickets that used to come in the LEP , and i paid on gate.
we went through different turnstiles , so i went in first to meet em directly inside, but when i got to their turnstile i found a steward making em drink the pop before he would let em in.
lads were almost in tears until a head steward took them into the ground and let them sit down in a corner and take their time drinking them.
