| Sorry but have to ask the question
Why does this game not get a mention on text on BBC or ITV!!?
If its that important to the promotion of the game I would have thought it would at least rate against Wath Brow v Ince Rose result!!!
Seems like a waisted opportunity to me, and we are the only ones that will suffer when the crowd is not as good as we expect, not to mention Bradford game that got postponed due to rescheduled date

Micky, see my post half way down here:
viewtopic.php? ... 4&start=60
ITV and BBC cover what they choose to cover on Teletext, noone dictates to them. It's a FRIENDLY and it's had coverage all over the place (google Harlequins and Manly and see how many hits) See the bigger picture. You'll have a much bigger than average crowd of purely London dwelling individuals today, if the estimates on here are anything to go by. And much, much more than you would have had against Bradford (you had 2,534 last season, see www.slstats.org/t12/Harlequins%2 ... mmary.html).
Are you seriously saying to me that people will come to watch this game in droves because they glanced it was on on text?

| The club needs to bombard the PA with stuff. It'll get more national and London coverage that way.

| An hour ago the BBC text didn't even have a summary of the Wire game.

| It's a friendly game and although it means a great deal to the London Rugby League community it doesn't mean much to anyone else. I'm not surprised that the game hasn't been highlighted by the media as it is just a friendly.

A slightly different angle on marketing at the ground today.
You have two merchandice shops as you enter the ground, one on the left, one on the right. You also have two sets of turnstiles as you enter the ground, one on the left, one on the right. Can anybody see the logic of having the turnstiles on the right open, but the shop on the right closed, whereas the shop on the left was open. As people come through the gate, you should be channelling them that way, they should be able to see the goods on display, not go looking for the things

What a negative post this is. I wasn’t totally sure what to expect in terms of numbers but I think just over 6000 is a pretty fine effort and given our average attendance, someone must have told somebody it was on for us to get that many through the gates…good effort to those who did the word spreading, be they working for the club, supporters or the media. I doubt very much if the crowd would have been significantly higher if Telly Text gave it a mention, I don’t mind if the Sky matches didn’t big it up either since they’d have been preaching to the relative converted anyway. BBC London as always have done us proud, can’t say I read the local ppapers so can’t comment on their coverage. I just hope we get a few back next week for Wigan as given their form at the moment I’m extremely hopeful of a win.

| was just asking the question as to why it was not on text and if the club or RFL had an influence in getting the TV folk to make sure it was promoted! interesting that they did have a write up of the result, so thats 1 positive
Would be really good to see some of the aussies come back later in the season, and was a much bigger crowd than I thought would be there.
Just goes to show what I know ho hum
Lets hope we get 6k in for the pie eaters game.

You're right - my missus and I redirected a few bemused potential purchasers.
I assume that come next week - when presumably the LV Stand will be closed - they will open the turnstiles next to the Ethiad stand, so people would be near the shop as they come in.
