You really are thick. Do you really and I mean really believe the £15 seat you pay for at the gate is in the same section of the ground as the £300 gold season ticket seats-before you respond just think it through

| I just thought maybe I was being a little harsh by that last breakdown of my 'Gold' season ticket.
so I looked at all the other stuff that goes with it.
Lets see........
=#FF0000- Your ticket will be valid for every regular season Super League home game
- 50 yard line RESESEVED seating
- Free car parking for all regular season Super League home games and Carnegie Challenge Cup home games
- Exclusive invitation to a pre-season event with players and coaches
- 50% off the Magic Weekend
- Post match access to Jesters Lounge
- Free ticket to 4th round Carnegie Challenge Cup - home and away
- 10% discount to End of Season Awards Dinner
- 2 complimentary tickets to the first home game of the season for friends and family to enjoy the season opener
- U16’s Free home and away challenge cup 5th and 6th round entry
- Plus a great range of supporter offers and discount vouchers for you to enjoy throughout the season
Reserved seating...so if I get a cr*p seat...I cant just go and sit somewhere else (well I can...because the place would be 3/4 empty anyway)
Free car parking for home games ....if I got one of these tickets the chances are I would live in London anyway so I would get the bus or tube. If I drove I couldnt have a few beers before during or after.
Exclusive invitation to a PRE SEASON event with players and coach?? This offer of £15 off applies if I went to the Wakey game...so the 'pre season' event has already happened?
50% off the Magic Weekend. Maybe...but I guess I still have to pay to go to scotland?
Free ticket to 4th round challenge cup tie...maybe I am working that weekend?
10% discount to end of season awards dinner.... I shudder to think how much a ticket to that costs...and I bet the food is nothing special anyway
2 complimentary tickets to the first home game of the season.....errrr hang on....this game has already happened right?
U16's free home and away challenge cup entry.... I'm actually over 16 and my kids are 4 and 7. and they would sooner be watching Hannah Montana anyway.
Great range of supporter offers and discount vouchers......for what?????!!! Thats what ebay is for............
Harlequins. You must try harder. MUCH harder.

Of course not.
but say I paid £15 because I was new to RL and didn't know if I would like it, then decided I did....but thought that my £15 seat gave me a poor view of what was going on so I thought I'd go for a more expensive one?
So I still only get £15 off my expensive all singing all dancing season ticket....and half the extra stuff they offer wont be valid anyway...because the first game has already happened?
Try and convince me this is a good deal again....because I can't see it........

| Please.
This isn't someone trying to slag off Harlequins.
I just want someone to tell me WHY it makes sense for me to pay over £300 pounds to watch harlequins for one season when I can do it for £195 by [size=150NOT[/size buying a season ticket????

So you wish to make up £105 worth of value? OK.
Judging by the car parks, it would appear that several hundred of our supporters park their motor at the game for whatever reason. Not being alcoholics, they choose to just come to watch the rugby. At £5 a go, going off 13 games, this results in £65 worth of parking. Add into the fact that the public car park doesn't open for all games, and thats a nice convienience to have. The free tickets amount to £20 depending on if you are a swine and flog them to your pals, so that's £85 already. So we're £20 short monetary value wise. £195 wouldn't get you seats in Gold for every game of the season and I don't think that £20 would quite make up the difference in price.
Is it a bit clearer to you now?

So car parking is the big reason why I would want a Harlequins season ticket?
If I'm an away fan I concede I would want to park in your car park. Once a season. So thats £5. Irrelevent, because as I live in Yorkshire I wouldnt want a Harlequins season ticket anyway.
So lets imagine this ficticious character I invented on my original post who is already a Harlequins RU fan took up this offer. There is a good chance he already knows all the free places to park near your ground, or he already lives somewhere in London or nearby, so most likely he will be getting the tube or the bus to the ground anyway. So the car parking offer isn't going to be of much use is it.
And as for the 'gold' seats I'll let you into a little secret. I have been to the Stoop 4 times now. Each time I bought a cheap ticket. Each time I politely asked the stewards if it would be possible to sit in the more expensive area seeing as there were so many empty seats around the ground anyway. Each time they said yes.

There aren't any free places to park near the ground. People travel from all over the South to watch Quins, not just London. Same goes for Harlequins RU, seeing as both teams are the most Southerly option in both sports.
Thanks for the little secret, its the first time I've heard that one, not that I actually managed to sit in all 4 stands at our opening match as Harlequins vs St Helens, including in the media seats in the Lexus. Good luck trying that this season, I struggled to find 3 seats together in AG at the first game of the season but what do I know, I only support the side.

I thought you could park for free at weekends on side streets that usually have meters (or residents permits)?

Not near the ground, no. Permit holders only, 7 days a week. Even if there were some convienient side streets, it would be nigh on impossible to find a space, as surprisingly, residents park their cars in their streets.

But lets say I am this Quins RU fan, living.......I dunno...Richmond..... who is thinking of taking out this offer that was emailed to me (most of which didn't apply anyway because the Wakefield game had already happened!)
I would catch the bus anyway.
Is this still a good offer at over £300 sheets?

Does the fact that this offer is e-mailed to people not tell you something? E-mail reaches people all over the South, for whom car parking is an excellent addition to the package.
If you live in Richmond, £300 for a season ticket is nothing to you anyway. But that's a different discussion. If you don't want to spend £300 then buy a lesser season ticket. Some people like to have the best seat, and are happy to pay for it. The other benefits are nice too. I'm really not sure what you are rattling on about tbh.

What im trying to say Dave is that the 'offer' ('Pretty good stuff from the marketing team' according to the OP) that Quins RL emailed out to people offering them this 'bargain' isn't really a bargain at all when you pick it apart.

Buying the season ticket represents an approx 33ish% saving if one were to attend all home games and sit in the Gold seats. And for those that travel by car, which, although you refuse to accept it, is a decent proportion of our support, another £65ish of car park savings. And all the other little things are simply a bonus that the club don't have to offer but they do anyway. Why don't you think thats a bargain?

Do you mean 'post match access to the 'Jesters Lounge' which I assume is the Quins bar where they sell overpriced drinks and food?
Or do you mean some of the pre season stuff.......that if I bought a discounted season ticket AFTER the Wakefield game would not apply anyway because it had already been and gone?

Post match access to the Jesters lounge includes meeting and talking to the players.

Although I don't have a gold season ticket myself I can see the appeal of the £65 quid car parking saving. Last thing you'd want after a defeat (or a win) is to find your car has been towed away! Most of our support are scattered across the South East (approx 120 mile round trip to get to last week's game for myself, one of my group was up from Bournemouth so even further for him) rather than locals and i think it would be fair to say that with public transport not always lending itself well to a trip to the Stoop (weekend engineering work, no tube - ? Richmond closest at end of District Line) a lot our supporters will drive to matches as its often a lot less hassle.Don't get me wrong 'cos I'm not meaning to 'big up' the club but I don't see why a 33% discount on the best seats with £65 quids worth of free parking is considered by one poster on here to be a bad thing.

Chosen to ignore the rest of my post? Do you see the point of buying a £300 season ticket now or not?
Which Super League grounds don't sell overpriced drinks and food btw? Our prices are in line with the local economy.
