Opportunity here.....
Advertise in TNT now, that any person who buys 4 tickets for 5 different SL games this season will get a free ticket to the game. £300 in revenue and 20 extra bums on seats during the season. 1,000 people do it (and there were at least 4,000 antipodeans there yesterday) and we generate £300,000 in revenue for a no risk cost of £20k......No brainer if you ask me.

No Brainer! - it is not us who sell the tickets but the RFL and so I can hardly see them giving away free tickets (to what should be a sellout) to people buying tickets to Quins games.

No....you misunderstood.
We buy the tickets as part of the promotion. Worst case scenario is we just have to re-sell them to recoup the money. As you say, it will be a sell out so if we did have £20,000 worth of tickets, we'd have no problem shifting them.
If the campaign required registration and we got 1,000 people registered, then the first purchase of 4 tickets (£60) covers our £20 expense. Thereafter, 4 more £60 purchases to confirm the 1 free ticket??

How utterly depressing.

Agreed, why not a double header at Wembley Eng v Fra and Aus v NZ? Capacity sell-out if ever there was one. Credit crunch or no crunch. they sould call it "Wizardly Wembley Weekend"
However there is I suppose some promotional logic in rasing awareness of the Stoop and Quins RL as a location/club considering we seem to have little or no marketing budget. Beggers can't be choosers.

Wasn't it FC who rejected an offer of a game?
If Hull City weren't in the premiership, you would have got a game......boils down to sharing with the wendyball lot. Brentford and the Broncos wasn't a great experience and Wigan and Wigan aren't on speaking terms......

NOO! I didn't realise this, really hope the 2 don't clash as I have missed out on the last 2 NFL games in London, and Patriots are my team!
The NFL is on the sunday isn't it? Surely it makes more sense to have the stoops game on a saturday anyway, because of transport etc

It makes sense.......this is the RFL we are talking about
I would think that Quins Union will have a say about this as well, but it's not like they haven't been warned about it.

"It makes sense" is not the first line in the RFL's Mission Statement (if they have one), nor has it appeared in any of the games thinking since the only bright idea of breaking away in 1895. It seems we used up our quota of "It makes sense" on that very day.
As for NFL ... if there is anything more boring than Gridiron then I have yet to come across it. I'd soon watch a snail transit across by back garden.

Which one is going to allow a RL game to be played on their precious pitch?
Please don't say Loftus Road, the ground in shocking.

| Great move this, getting more publicity for our club and a few more people sampling the Stoop experience is worth a lot more to the RFL than 4,000 hypothetical extra ticket sales at Loftus Road.
That said, a double header at Wembley would've been a cool idea, although I'm not sure how much of a draw England vs France would be as a main event in practice?

| If the RFL was looking to get the biggest possible crowd the game would be played in central London somewhere like Loftus or Craven Cottage. However I beleive they have made the best decision with regards to rugby league in London and Quins RL.
Playing the game at the stoop, puts all funds back into the game (or Quins in this case, the ground is owned by the club?) through venue hire and catering. From a first hand look, the ground also has adequate corporate facilities which is imporant for international matches.
The game should easily sell out with the right promotion, hopefully the RFL will help Quins with the promotion of Super League in London and the 2010 season. This is an opportunity that needs to be seized, the RFL and Quins have 8 months to get it right! Good luck!

| Ouch! 4000 Aussie fans...and the reported gate was 6032 in Oz media. So does that mean our fan base has dropped to around 2000 bearing in mind noticed a number of Leeds supporters down for the game - all sitting in the best seats of the Lexus.

Personally I beleive the crowd may have been slightly higher then that, and the 4000 ozzies is an estimate remember. Plenty of brits sitting around myself.

we have 2,000 HARD core fans...then we have another 1,000 occasionals. Simple fact is we need to expand this base, which is why we should set up a regular arrangement with TNT, but CONTINUE TO TARGET THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.
Some of our crowds last year were terrible such as Castleford 2,112, Bradford 2,534 and the frogs 2,447. If you think we have more than 2,000 hard core fans, I would suggest you stop using IL's calculator

I believe it is a guestimated figure, but one that isn't too far off the mark.
They were in the majority yesterday, that is for sure.

Just interested to find out where the figure comes from as it has just been raise as another poster mentioned 4000 extra tickets in an unrelated matter.
I've no doubt there were a lot of them.
