For me Because his style of play wouldn't work as effectively at half back in SL I don't think. He's a poor defender and not an organising half. He's not a general. He's a Tompkins type player- has great speed and acceleration and is extremely agile- he is a great game reader and will see a half chance and take it. He is also fantastic at backing up a break. His good reads will I think make hiim good at orgAnising the defensive line and having him join the line in attack could open up some opportunities. That's the kind of FB we need.

Woody can't tackle a toffee and hasn't the speed to finish a break or nutmeg the full back Brierley has yes a work in progress but he would be at full back one thing Tansey offers is he comes into the line well and can pass something we've not had since Brett Hodgson we missed him when he went on the wing after the sending off as like Scott Grix he can also organise the defence and means we could attack from multi channels something we desperately need to do.

| If Brierley is to play FB then it's going to be a work in progress, as has been said, defensively he needs work and he doesn't seem like an organiser, but play him as a 3rd half coming into the line of the back of breaks could be just what we want, and we've not had a FB like that since Hodgson left.
I would keep changes to a minimum, i agree that Kyle Wood isn't the best half back but he and Broughy have done ok last couple of games and Woody has done well for me.
If all are available i'd go with
Brierley
Murphy
Connor
Cudjoe
Jerry
Brough
K wood
Rapira
Hinchy
Johnson/mason
Bruno
Roberts
Ta'ai
Patrick
Eorl
Johnson/Mason
Leeming.

Also behind a struggling pack is not the ideal place to blood a new player with a weight of expectation on him. I would agree with you , let him find his feet from the back and exploit any gaps. I would eventually hope to see him alongside Brough , Most sides give a lot of attention to Brough, which should suit Brierley's style and allow him to play his own game.

I'd agree with that apart from id put foster on the wing in place of Murphy- smurph looks done in this season to me, he's making errors and putting him in against his former side could add to nerves. play foster against Wakey and smurph against Salford at home.

| There is a case for Brierley at 1 or 7.
Potentially he can do a good job in both.
The issue will be what other players are playing and what are the tactics.
Match the player to the game plan don't pick a team first and then decide on the game plan.
Brierley could chime into attack from full back BUT his pace in the middle means he would be brilliant at picking up offloads and we need him to get his hands on the ball in gaps as much as we can.
Off the cuff in the middle is easier than chiming in to the line from full back which requires him to be more familiar with the systems.
Full back is likely to be a longer term plan but who knows.

| I'd be surprised if he didn't now. Still see him in the middle at the mo, few people have said he isn't a general, well no he isn't but we have one in Brough. You can definitely see he becoming a Brett Hodgson type player. Theres a lot of talk from Leigh fans about what he can and can't do but theres also a case for what him doing what he has been asked to do. From what I've seen hes not a bad infield kicker and has a pretty good pass on him too, not a million miles away to what Hodgson had.
Wardles turning into the new ferres! injured then straight into ban.

Brierley on into the halves to with 30 to go pushing wood to hooker and hinchy to 13 . Roberts to spell Patrick with Bruno having a spell at 13 when this happens

I'd probably go with that, but maybe have either Huby or Rapira on the bench, as we lose a lot of experience if they were both to get rested at the same time.

Yep have to admit it's a tad on the high side for what you get. And there are no cash turnstyles now, you have to queue up at the ticket 'office' (shack) near the donny road entrance to get a ticket to gain entry. It's 3 quid cheaper and less hassle if tickets are bought before matchday.

What is to be gained, Why move a hooker from his preferred position to one he doesn't like to play in and replace him with a scrum half, then have to replace the SH with another player, Can we not just replace a player without changing half the team, That was J Sharpe's style of coaching, and he finished up more confused than anyone
