We lost today to a rubbish team and we were twice as rubbish. Bob was back to his predictable self. Penky needs to be dropped if you ask me. So does Jonny and Stu. Tommy G has even gone off the boil. There was something wrong out there again. We will loose by 30 points next week if we carry on playing like today. The full back position needs sorting imediately bacause Jonny doesn't look like he wants to be on the field.

Guess, I meant not 'too bothered' about not picking up 3 points. BUT if I had been at the game, and at one point losing 26-10 to lowly Workington....that is dire.
We have NO (apart from Brierley & Pownall) pace in the backs, too much one man rugby/inside ball etc

We were lucky to come away with a bonus point because that in its entirety was the game plan as far as I could see.

We are obviously missing Ridyard and Brierly but offensively we are unimaginative and lack any creativity to unlock most defences.

Beswick is a very good hooker at this level but never a 7. Where's Coyle these days? Beswick needs to stay at 9 no matter what, even if it means Penky partnering McNally at Half Back.

I don't know where Pownall was for Shaun Briscoe's opening try, and he was all at sea for the try conceded early in the second half also. He needs to work on his positioning if he is going to stake a claim for a regular full back shirt as suggested. He is only a young lad though and he will learn.

Whilst Hopkins and Spencer are bang on top of their games, we have far to many players enduring lean spells for me and they need to raise their hands.

However my biggest concern is our game plan which is predictable, boring and pants.

Despite the close scoreline, Leigh were easily second best to Workington today.

Budge , you are right about the lack of pace in our backs ,and the one man rugby and the Infamous Inside Ball ,our forwards did try today , when McNally move back to Full Back it did change the game about , and Penkys grubber kicks today just didn't come off , hopefully we will beat Haven next week , but Charlie is taking nothing for granted these days .

I'm sure that the new BOM will make the necessary decisions next season to ensure that we are in the best position possible to achieve our goal of SL

To be honest with the play offs now for the Top 8 teams I thought the NRC was always likely to be of bigger importance as unless we implode it always looked likely we could make the play offs in the current format.

Hoping for a good solid performance next week as its 2 defeats on the spin so a win is vital especially with another team arriving on the back of a loss keen to rectify that.

No Town are not that bad, but to be 26-10 behind to a side that hadn't beaten anyone in the top 5 yet, that was poor.

That's OK then. Ridy was originally reported to be being rested prior to the Fev game, now its not certain he'll be back for Haven game. Reported that Penky doesn't seem interested, Pownall keeps having mares at FB which was his original position before being turned into a winger and a number of others underperforning. Also the return for the last couple of weeks of the inside ball tactic bodes for a very boring and under productive end of the season.

Too many of our players had bad games yesterday but to write our team off because of yesterday is premature.

Wait till Riddy Brierley Parker Aspinwall and Higson are available.

One of our players yesterday cost us too many points. He knows that but will be anxious to do better next time.

Very true Frank. Can anyone shead any light on where Adam has got to. Is he injured again? He's not been in the U20's team either.

Rich as I said Penkys grubber kicks didn't come off yesterday , but they will , the lad has had a few quiet games , but Charlie has faith in him , to come good , along with the rest of the team .
We are NOT a bad team , just playing without half-backs , it will get better , im taking nothing for granted but we should beat Haven , and hopefully come good at the Business end of the season , just one more thing

I don't think the problem is simply that our regular half backs have been out injured, in my view we haven't had =#FF0000ANY player who can =#FF0000CONTROL a game (in the way, for example, that Liam Finn does) since Jules O'Neill.



Also young Johnny Pownall is under intense pressure at full back. I know he started there but - again in MY view - he is not a FB; he is a winger and a bl00dy good one at that. I like the lad and he is desperate to do well so let's play him where he should be and give him that confidence boost.
