I just emailed the support team at Superleague+ to ask about the situation regarding Sky. They said that Superleague+ is a separate service to Sky, so a separate subscription will be needed.

The 1st 15 games will all be shown on TV, and after that fans wanting to watch all the games, or individual games of their choice, will have to subscribe to Superleague+
I rarely watch a televised game live, but record it and watch it later.
The steamed games are no use to me, if I can`t watch them at a later time, but I had no intention of giving SKY any further money anyway.'"
100% feel the same, which is why i never bothered with NOW TV. If i can't record it and watch it later, and my only option is to watch it live it's no use to me.
I'll just crack on and just watch the 2 games a week after the 15 rounds

| I was thinking that you will be able to watch matches via Superleague+ retrospectively. Not seen anything that says you won't be able to do this.

Nah, if you've got a Sky subscription you won't need Super League+. Sky are showing every single game live on their regular channels for 15 rounds, after 15 rounds it will be showing 2 live games on their regular channels and the other 4 will be going on a new Sky streaming service that they are launching to coincide with the new EFL season, which you will have access to as a Sky subscriber. So if you are a sky subscriber, you will have access to every game without touching Super League+.
No idea on the state of watching match replays on Sky. The last few years it's been basically non existent which is infuriating considering how much it costs. I would assume that once they launch their streaming service, you WILL be able to watch games on demand, but that's pure speculation on my part. Although it is the way every streaming service I've ever used has worked.
As for Super League+, it says the games will be available to watch on demand pretty much immediately after the live transmission has finished. After 15 rounds, they will not be able to show the 2 Sky games live, but these will be available on demand after 48 hours.

This is pretty much how I see it, I’ll wait and see how the SuperLeague+ is performing and likely switch once my Sky contract runs out as long as SL+ is working well - I only have Sky Sports for RL really.

I didn`t have the free time available to watch all the games I was recording, and ended up filling too much of the Digi Box hard-drive with NRL games I hadn`t watched.
In the end I just deleted them all, stopped recording them and eventually didn`t watch the NRL games anymore.

| So with all these viewing options how best to play it?
I don't have Sky and am not interested in moving from my current provider.
3 of the 1st 5 Wire matches are on SL+, all 5 on Sky in the first 5 weeks.
Looks like - legally at least - a months Now TV subscription at approx £34.99 and 1 days SL+ booked in advance at £6.99.
The other longer term deals seem pretty good, BUT I'll reserve judgment till later in the year as I'm sure there will be some teething problems in the early days.
Anyone got any better ideas?

It's only £120 for the proper high quality SL streaming service, and you get very game on demand, with all but two games live per week. I think that's superb value if you like RL, but work most weekends over the summer when the games are on, like me.

Yes it's a good deal but I've never managed to watch the game without knowing the result in advance and I want to treat it as a 'live' game.

I took Wire tv on when it came out.
Still have it, but pretty poor value as I can’t watch the game or even buy a trade paper after a defeat.
I’m a sore loser.

Is the service on demand or just streamed live?
I thought it was the latter, but on demand would make it far more attractive to me.

Both. I used to use Now TV which is live only, but the SL+ is perfect when it works out at £10 a month.

| Sky Sports’ full commentary and on-screen team for 2024 are as follows: Barrie McDermott, Bill Arthur, Brian Carney, Courtney Winfield-Hill, Dave Woods, Jamie Jones-Buchanan, Jenna Brooks, Jodie Cunningham, Jon Wells, Jon Wilkin, Kyle Amor, Mark Wilson, Terry O’Connor, and Sam Tomkins.
Mostly disappointing.

| Am I in the minority, but I don't really like the lip service thing of sticking a woman on the end of the panel, and I don't like the shouty female announcer at the HJ either.
