| From Burgess’ interview last night Fitzgibbon has had surgery, so will be back next season, sounds like it’s not the end of his career like some feared? Of course only time will tell

Was speaking of this with someone that if he was to continue and not miss to much if anything at all he needed to have surgery now if a consultant said it enables him to continue.

| Yeah doesn't seem the immediate retirement injury people kept banging on about. He's got about 5 months to recover, rehab and strengthen for next season.
Will be very happy to have a 100% Fitz in the team. If we have signed this George Hirst the other 2nd row spot might be between him and Holroyd. Unless we have designs on a more experienced player already?

| I think Holroyd is a more than worthy candidate to step up. His only faults have been the odd bit of indiscipline, but that will come with experience. We do need another second rower replacement, but as long as Fitzgibbon is on the mend for 2025 I don't see why it has to be an expensive one.

I think you are expecting a lot for Hirst to step up to SL and hit the ground running.

| The WOW signing being speculated about was Nathan Cleary. Won't be happening to my knowledge, but fair play to SM for the attempt.

| I wouldn't be surprised if Sione Mata'utia turned up here next year. There is a strong connection with Newcastle Knights players here that he played with previously.

I think that shows that the club are not prepared to go with Leon Hayes at first pick starting half, if we are looking to recruit for his position.

Perhaps it was a little groundwork for a more serious attempt somewhere in the future Abe?

It came to an abrupt end when Cleary asked Alexa: "Alexa, compare Warrington to the beaches of Sydney" and "Alexa, is Nathan Cleary worth more than Blake Austin's wage packet?".

From Cleary to Leyland? Ah well at least the chippys around the HJ will be happy with us signing Leyland.

I'm sure that we can whip him into shape...
I did keep an eye on him when we played London and without being too harsh as he's young and played in a well beaten team and I've liked what I've seen previously (in glimpses), but I think that the lad fluffed his lines if that was an audition.
Maybe it was a simple touch of the hors d'oeuvres, the thrill of the greasepaint and smell of the crowd, or playing against his future teammates thinking he had a point to prove but he's a project signing for me.

That's why I had a problem with his signing at th3 time it was raised, we've now got 2 projects 7s.

Hope so Rico. He's currently got a bigger pot belly than me.

Quote ="Builth Wells Wire"Wire are seeking to sign England’s RU star prop Ellis Genge'"
I am hoping this is not true.
Warrington CEO Karl Fitzpatrick hopes to persuade the England prop to switch codes after meeting him at a celebrity fishing event in July
Thought the ar5ehole had been quiet for a bit. Does he learn NOTHING? This is a Burrell Mk II.
Why can't we just sign a great proven RL prop?? Always us with the edgy, out there PR flop signings.

just to say as well, the level of tackling in that vid is awful, but there's a lot of stuff in there, definite yellow this season in league, but i thought they went mental in RU for anything near the head?

| I am glad our thoroughly professional recruitment process for 2025 /26 is well underway. Detailed videos, statistics, assessments and references from our Northern and Southern hemisphere scouting network balanced against our needs assessment agreed with the performance team, long lists whittled down to short lists - not forgetting the chance vital celebrity fishing trip to give us the inside line.
I can just imagine Chambers reporting up to the board that for 2025 we need an out of condition, big bopper, with random offload, who will be blowing after 10 minutes who has never played RL before.
FFS Just do one Fitzpatrick. You are a joke. When will you learn? Or is this the owners playing with the train set again?
In case you are wondering how this well go.
Fitzpatrick on Burrell - Abject failure
Wire chief executive Karl Fitzpatrick says the club could not pass up the opportunity to sign Burrell and he expects him to be a big hit with the Wolves faithful. “Opportunities like this don’t come along that often, to sign a player of Luther’s quality and playing CV is fantastic for the club and for Super League. “Having played most of his junior rugby in league, Luther is aware of the required skill-set and the physical demands. “His impressive stature, bone-crunching hits and dynamic running are sure to make him a firm favourite with our supporters.”
Fitzpatrick on Inglis - Abject failure
"This is not a pay day and he is not coming for a pension." Fitzpatrick says it is a boost now just for The Wire, but the wider game during the current pandemic which has seen rugby league, along with most other areas of life, shut down. He added: "It is incredible. This is a signing for all our members and partners to thank them for their loyalty. "This is something for them to look forward too during these tough times. "He looks in great condition and is refreshed and raring to go."
