I'm asking for an explanation as to why. Solomina loses the ball. Fact. Gidley puts his hand on the ball after this. Fact. So why wasn't it deemed dead? I'm just asking because any other time it's deemed dead?

I think that is on the money. For 35 minutes we dominated them playing sensible rugby, then decided to showboat instead of taking the ball up and playing in their last Q of the field. Once they got a try they visibly lifted and the damage was done.
Jullien was not great in the tackle and Toby King faded as the game went on, I suppose you have to accept that with their inexperience and return from injury. Gidley was not great, even his kicking was off. I thought Smith brought a bit of energy to the team though. Excellent display by Cas.

Your interpretation of the rules is correct, but I don't think your 'facts' are: I don't think Solomona does lose the ball at any point: seen from the side angle, before Gidley puts his hand on the ball, he clearly still has full control of it. Grounding is a bit scruffy, but right call for a try IMO.

| He clearly does lose the ball, starts in his hand and ends up halfway near his hip. He does get back hold of it but I'm really not sure it was regained before Gidley puts his hand on it because there was no frame by frame, I guess having it sent up as a try backs the VR into a corner. I wasn't trying to give out sour grapes, Cas worked extremely hard at the back end of the first half to get back into it. We were woeful in the second fourty though.

| I would hope that it does matter. The margin of the victory shouldn't be a factor as to whether we discuss if a try was legitimate or not. Yes, Cas blew us away in that second half and the win was well deserved but I also think our ethic dropped off a cliff too.

Yes I saw your and not you're and your still thick.
But if you want to get into a debate about rugby instead of name calling then I'll gladly retract all inaccurate comments about you and refrain from them in the future.

| Tbh for the first 30 minutes you would have taken bets on what the Wire cricket score was going to be ,then Cas spoiled it by coming up with a Plan B & played us off the field for the remainder. For the second week running ,we floundered against a team that brought the game to us...that could be something for the coaching staff to work on by introducing a toughening of the defence.
We can't argue ,the best team won.

| At least a Wire fan wins the FA cup. Jessie.
I'm not a Utd fan but I'm thrilled a Wire fan scores a winner at Wembley. Isn't that every dream a young boy has, of scoring the winner at Wembley?

| The rot set in as soon as TS replaced Hill and Sims at the same time. We should have been 30 points to the good by then. We had been pressuring Gale on the kicks until 30 minutes and then we just let him play. Watch our line speed after 30 minutes - non-existent. We were waiting to see what Cas did before we attempted to tackle, and then failed to prevent the offload, or prevent forward movement by tackling round the legs. We were clueless in the second half and a shambles in defence, and TS clearly didn't have the nous to inspire a better performance. Embarrassing.

No it wasn't. A try everyday, replay showed Solomona still had his hand on the ball before grounding, only question to be raised was why it wasn't an 8 point try?
If it was wire scoring that try would you question it?

The ball as I remember it went from one hand to another when he was on his back.
The only time a Warrington hand touched it was when he had regathered it.

Please watch the replay. Solomanas right hand stays on the ball all the way to the ground. Gidleys hand just helped it stay there a bit more.

| After the good spell in the first half wire just collapsed. Looked clueless in attack and the defence was Awful, never seen so many missed tackles. A few players need a rollicking this morning only Ratch and Hill come out that game with any credit. Credit to Cas for the way they slung the ball about the pitch and played us off the park. What was it 32 unanswered points that's unacceptable this season is going the same way as the last.

I "like" the way a side that sits top of the league pretty much for half the season gets dismissed as an also ran in the race for title yet they ask Cas can they go on and win it...?
Wait till Hull hit the top later today, they haven't been top of the league since the 80's but all hell will break out when they're top. ...
Eddie would go stark staring bonkers though if Catalan and Hull both lost and we stayed top.

I didn't notice it, but he's an anti-Wire most weeks so I just shut him out these days. He absolutely hates us.
