| Read reports that Konrad Hurrell is free to leave NZ, now he is the type of centre I'd love to see play.
Sa'u, Hurrell, Griffin and Carney now that's massive backline.

| No one else want to see Josh Griffin moulded into a 2nd row? He's a big strong lad with good pace and I reckon he'd do a great job there. He's been superb this season but I'm not sure he has the all-round game to be a top class centre. I think he'd develop into a pretty good 2R tho.

Having watched the recent interview it seems the penny may have eventually dropped.

| So after the game I learnt that O'brian has sign so has Monaghan and this prop/2nd row from Wests. Sau has been told he can leave and from the reason Hanson has left is a bit more complicated than we think. Apparently Thursday is the day when a number of announcements will be made

| Be a bit miffed if we release someone in his prime like Sa'u and bring in Monaghan, at the very most I'd offer him a 1 year deal so we can see how he goes.
Who's the guy from Wests?

| The lad with the double barrelled name. Not to fussed with Sau to be honest, not a very proving centre shall we say and wrong physical build for a winger

| This is an oft mooted question at Salford but with all the people we've released how many quota spots are available?
If we take it that Lui and BMM have signed following the release of Chase, Paterson, Maitua, Locke and Puletua we might still have a spot or two available.

It's non-fed trained status that you really need to look at. The Kolpack fellas don't count on the quota but do for non-fed.
Lui would count on both. BMM would be non-fed as he's a Kiwi. Dobson counts on both. Sau is non-fed. Weller is non-fed.
Who else is left for next season?
Quite a few spots left I think. The quota numbers are five max and non-fed seven? They were changed recently and I can never remember for some reason. A statto on here will tell you better than me.

I think they got rid of the old quota completely from this season - it's just Non-Fed quota now...So Non-Fed is the quota.
Anyway, just Dobson Sa'u & Huaraki by my count too.

If that's the case then it'll be the seven that sticks in my mind for some reason...
Dobson, Sau, Weller, Lui, BMM would leave two more spots open. If Monaghan has signed that'll be six, and if Carney comes that'll be seven.
You could have eight if you used the marquee signing. So Cory-Parker for 12 months as well would be nice.

| 7 is definitely right for Non-Fed.
Are you sure the Marquee allowance gives you an extra spot though? Sounds odd.

| Murdoch-Masila has just been released by Penrith along with a player I'd love to see in the pack, Adam Docker is a beast in defense and would go some way to filling the gap left by losing Hock, HH and Paterson.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't, it was more a tongue-in-cheek comment.

| a little concerned about the number and quality of the signings we are allegedly making compared with what we lost in through the 2015 season. I just hope there are others in addition coming with some real quality, because obviously we have to improve on 2015 which we thought we would have but didn't, and a lot of that 'supposed' quality has gone. What do you think all?

| From the signing rumours I've heard, unless there are a couple of big surprises I wouldn't expect anything more than a bottom 4 finish. Hope I'm wrong obviously but I'm just trying to be realistic.

| no change then , we've been bottom end of the league last two seasons with our supposed ' quality signings.
actually I'm more comfortable with 'just signings' and someone bringing them in who might have a plan of how to use them. eg build a team that is more than the sum of its parts.

Yes I'd much prefer us to over achieve than under achieve . Hopefully next year there will a lot less drama off the field and players with more ambition who are fully committed to the cause. It's time to start building solid foundations for the future and investing more time and finances in developing young players. The long term plan should be transforming the youth setup and then adding a couple of worldies if Marwan still has the appetite.

| Just read a report that Semi Radradra from the Eels is being chased by Japanese RU clubs for $900,000 (Australian) per season, awful lot of money but the perfect marquee signing as he would get so many tries.

I think any true marquee signing would be in receipt of a salary of around £500,000–£1,000,000 a year anyway. Sam Burgess, Jonathan Thurston etc.
