His backing up is second to none, seems to be in the right place all the time when he does. In general though he is young and has a lot to learn. He's not quite Billy Slater just yet. I think having a player like Webb around who has done the lot in the game tapping him on the shoulder every now and again is what he needs, that and just to develop without pressure on him. Same goes for Pelissier at hooker, he has much more chance to impact the game with his speed when he has the experienced Henderson around him.

Would rather keep Shaul than have Escare. The lad's a talent, but I rate Shaul higher.

I would put him 4th behind Hardaker, Lomax and Grix and on par with Shaul.

I would have him in the top few full backs in the comp.

Hardaker is the best. Bowen is good, but age has got to him, so if offered the two I would pick Escare. Russell is strong, probably making him a superior selection just by his size and strength. Lomax is a different player, and a more rounded player. Shaul is good, but I prefer Escare.

Kevin Locke will be very very good also.

It was a shocker. Defence is the one part of his game that he has to improve drastically if he is to become the greatest full back in Super League. But that is not to deny his brilliance in attack.

I like watching Escare play. He's only young and pretty inexperienced but he's a real threat and the Dragons certainly look better with him in their side. Hopefully he will continue to develop. And hopefully more like him will be brought through the system at the dragons.

I share your sentiments. However, as I have said already, unless he can bulk up a bit, he is unlikely to have the confidence to be a stronger defender. I wonder if his coach recognises that fact.

Consider: if Escare tackles Ben Jones-Bishop, then Catalans probably win against Leeds. Something must be done to improve his defence. But nevertheless, if one takes account of his youth and inexperience, he can still be considered a very talented attacking force..

Consider if BJB tackles Escare and Leeds still win. Consider Escare not fluffing the chance of another set of six and Catalans maybe winning.
