We would have a fair shot against NSW with that team but would struggle against Queensland and thrashed by Australia (again)!!

I know Charnley is a good player, but playing both wings in the same game is some going for anyone!!!

| Ideally France would tour at the same time and play PNG one week after GB then play NZ in a three test series whilst GB were playing the Ashes games.

Wings. Charnley, Hall, Briscoe,
Centres. Reed, Atkins, Watkins, Cudjoe
Halves. Widdop, Brough, Smith, Lomax
Props. Hill, Mossop, Graham, Burgess, Carvell
Back Row. Burgess, Harrison, Hock, O'Loughlin, Tickle, Ellis

Can we sack McNamara before 2013, if so we have a decent chance if Harrison, Hill, Mossop, Watkins, Burgess boys, McIllorum etc develop further,

Bet Mcnamara omits him from final squad.

I have my doubts too to be honest. He'll be 30 and he never sems to perform consistantly for a full season. I think Matty Smith if he has another good year next year could be in.

A trip down under would be definitely on the cards for this.

| I’m hoping that another full Super League and NRL season will see a number of young players play themselves into contention
We have the building blocks of a decent squad
Full backs: Tomkins is nailed on barring injury and I really like the look of Eden but next year may be a little too early
Wings: Any three from Briscoe, Hall and Charnley who are all a step up from recent English wings
Centres: Watkins could be a great centre – has athleticism and skill. Needs to tighten up his defence but in another 12 months he could be the real deal. Alongside him either Reed or Atkins
Stand-off: Widdop – performing at a good standard week in week out in a leading NRL team, not sure what more he has to do to get the number 6 jersey for England
Scrum half: Lomax – again in 12 months I think he will be capable of really bossing a game, already showing he can do this for Saints in spells. I would have had Brough in the squad last year but not as convinced now. Matty Smith may be a shout after a year at Wigan
Props: Rotating with Graham, Sam Burgess, Mossop and probably Chris Hill the way he is improving (although I think George Burgess will be a regular in South’s NRL squad next year, will be interesting to see if he can get fast international recognition like his brother)
Hooker: Roby nailed on and McIlorum the other specialist. At least one of Robinson and Burrow in the squad for cover
Back row: Ellis, Westwood, Hock and O’Loughlin
My 17 from that would probably be below but I hope that some youngsters push their way into the picture
Tomkins
Briscoe
Watkins
Reed
Hall
Widdop
Lomax
Graham
Roby
Sam Burgess
Ellis
Westwood
O’Loughlin
Mossop
Hill
Hock
McIlorum

| Picking an inital 32 man squad with plenty of cover I'd be looking at something like:
Tomkins
Ratchford
Charnley
Hall
Briscoe
Reed
Atkins
Watkins
Goulding
Widdop
Chase
Brough
Lomax/Smith
Graham
Mossop
L Burgess
Prescott
Hill
Carvell
McCarthy-Scarsbrook
Patrick
Roby
McIlorum
Burrow/Houghton
S Burgess
Ellis
Hock
Westwood
Farrell
JJB/Bateman
O’Loughlin
Sinfield
Obviously aspects such as 2013 form/injuries are going to play a massive part in whittling that down to a final 24 and then 17. I've tried to mix some of the most promising younger players with experience and remove what I consider dead wood from the squad. If McNamara is still in charge a lot of this will still be floating around however no doubt.

I'd love to see England vs England with something along the lines of these two squads. Surely it'd be interesting for the fans to come and spectate rather than cheer? The game would be full-blooded coming into direct competition for places.
England v England followed by England v Exiles?

| Obviously I'm biased but Briscoe has proven that he can do alot more than just scored tries and some brilliant ones at that. Charnley although he's a very good winger and one of the best English wingers around is fortunate to be playing for easily the best team in the comp were alot of his tries are handed to him. Which he mentioned himself on the Super League show the other night. Can't recall seeing him break a tackle and go the full length of the pitch or anything of note.
Like I said I'm obviously going to be bias but for me Hall and Briscoe are the two best wingers for England at the minute, followed by Charnley.

I actually think Charnley and Briscoe are. Never really got the attraction with Hall. Good athelete and scored two good tries against Aus last year but he's nothing special for me. Too much emphasis is put on who scores the most tries when discussing the best wingers but wingers who score alot tend to get alot of walk ins because they are in the best teams. Hall is a perfect example of this and I don't often see Hall score a try that Briscoe couldn't have scored. However I see Briscoe do something every week and think, "theres not many who could do what he just did there." Take the Leeds game on Friday, quiet game by him (and all the wingers really) but could Hall have slid behind his line to clean up that kick before making 20 metres? Not a chance.

I don't think you've actually watched much of Ryan Hall have you? He's a much better defender than Briscoe, he frequently picks up the ball behind his line and makes good metres against the odds, he's capable of some magic jinking runs, scored plenty of long range tries and, whilst he's no Vainakolo, he barges defenders out of the way to score tries that Briscoe simply wouldn't have a hope of managing.
Nothing against Briscoe, I like him, but if you don't think Hall has much about him then you're either blinkered or bonkers.
