| I was reading League Weekly today and noticed in the Valvoline Cup page it listed the Bulls U20s team with Platt in the 2nd Row.
I know its 'only' the U20s, but with us being short of forwards at the moment (not guaranteed that Elima will be fit for Saturday?) I got to wondering..... might we be seeing Platt in the 2nd Row on Saturday night?

| Why would we need another 2nd rower? Even without Elima we still have Whitehead, Bateman and Walker.
If Platt ends up playing anywhere, it will be at fullback as a result of Kearney moving to SO.

| Fair enough Mick, you were obviously there - but I'm looking at League Weekly now and it has him listed in the 2nd Row (with Dawson and Hawthorne as centres)
Anyhow, I was only mischief making, I don't seriously expect him to be in the 2nd Row

I only caught the second half. He could have started in the pack.

| I very much doubt this gives an indication of Potter's selection thinking ahead of the weekend.
From what I remember, Platt did some training sessions at second row last year and there had been some discussion of him possibly moving inside. Nothing significant came of it though.
To be honest, I don't think his defence is anywhere near good enough to play any closer to the middle.

| His defensive mis-reads are much more frequent than his missing one on ones. It's often the case that players like platt are more comfortable defending neareer the ruck as it is more about energy, strength and size and less about footwork and decision making. Sykes was a much better defender nearer the ruck than he was at right centre. Platt is a strong runner so may be suited to second row and if needed I'm sure Potter would play him there. He's clearly not in Potter's plans as anything other than a utility player in an injury crisis and as such you could do a lot worse.
