You're not wrong, and given the poor PR from the club, comments from ex-Chairman etc over previous days it wouldn't be a shock to see some people not cough up.

| I was all in favour of the club extending the deadline over the weekend, just thought they should have announced it on Friday.
There must be a concern though, that the longer the club delays the announcement the greater will be the level of non payment. The passage of time since pledging will make some people will feel less obligated to pay, they will argue that the club have moved the goalposts etc. If they pledged iwhen swept up in the emotion of the crisis, they might have since become more detached, might question whether they can afford to honour their pledge.

| So...they want you to stump up the £500,000 while discussions of a potential take over are in effect? They get the best of both worlds?

| The tone of the statement sounds very positive about the talks that are under way so hopefully one of these will come off bringing in a new shareholder with new ideas and hopefully a profitable business plan to ensure we don't go this way again while still being competitive on the field

That is what our pledge money has done! It has bought time to find, negotiate and settle a new finance deal with someone somewhere. I am pleased and hopeful now that there are people wanting to buy in and maybe wanted to see the fans commitment first. I believe we have demonstrated our commitment to the Bulls in spades and would hope that this gives the current board enough to sell us as a going concern "fan base wise" to whoever is interested. Feeling much more confident at the moment. Paid my money already.

Half a million is a big ask, where was the next tranche going to come from? this is the best possible news, that they have the immediate target sorted AND are in talks for further funds. Yes it would be nice to know who and how much, whether Caisleys shares are part of the wash, etc, but if it took a couple of extensions to get a bit more time to check that these investors are genuine then the wait has been worth it. And Gurus_Beard/CC, if I was Hood and knew I had to look for longer term investors, what would I first do but tie down Whitehead and Bateman etc to long term contracts as inducement? Surely a better way to use these lads talents, as bait for investment, than sell them?

| will be intresting to see the final amount "With a total of £506,000 pledged " so if 61 people pledged £100 just for a laugh, or to see what the pledging process actually was or have since changed their minds the clube will be short of the actually target, not much but still fine fine margains

Perhaps not, but most epayment forms tend to be, well [ifairly[/i similar I guess.
I don't know why they didn't include an account number for BACS or FPS payments as both (AFAIK) are without any cost, and in the case of FPS the cash is in the account within 3 hours. With both cheques and card there is a percentage going to the bank in clearing charges.

| I've not used it, but it sounds like a quick adaptation of a system they already had in place.
And let's be honest, they haven't exactly got the money to spend to develop a new one, have they?

| went through ok for me without the error 500 message. Can confirm you will receive a email confirmation if it goes through ok. E-ticketing system has always been clunky to say the least.

I asked Ryan about this last night. Reason he said is so they can keep track of who has paid, and tie up with pledges. If monies go into bank account, its hard to get enough info to tie them all up without asking the pledge to send some additional detail separately - which defeats the object.
There IS cost with business receipts through BACS or FP though. Costs me per receipt at work. Doubtless cheaper than through their handling site though, which is why I asked the question, but sounds like the extra admin would outweigh any charges savings.

Thanks for that Adey, with FPS they would have got the money into the account a bit quicker but fair enough I guess.

| I DID try to suggest that maybe for the larger pledges it might make sense. They would have had my money for value yesterday evening.
