I'm no longer certain that even MacB himself knows whether he's being serious or not. I guess most Yorkshire people will realise what's going on but as for those unfortunate folk in far flung Cumbria and the like, y'know like Fev and Halifax, they've no chance..

That half back Lowes is looking for to complete his signings' could well be you with that sidestep you have
As for the season tickets' like Bradfords they'll take care of themselves, you'd be better served brushing up on your winding up skills than our ST sales

| Quote ="Maccbull_BigBullyBooaza"I don't mean to sound patronising but some of te clubs we are playing next year need to face facts. A home game against Bradford will set most of the clubs up for the season.
That said their grounds aren't big enough to stage the match. I would expect a number of them wil give up home advantage to play at Odsal. The ground is large enough and with it's iconic status would attract a bigger crowd than say Leigh's ground for example. Sheffield playing at don valley will be big enough but the rest they could really cash in by moving the fixture to Odsal.
Will they see sense though or will fans' stubbornness rule the day?'"
We will give you the usual Batley welcome to our slope as we gave Cas last season in the challenge cup , give up home advantage lol , never

This opportunity is far too great for you to turn down. After this season, who knows when you will next play the mighty Bulls. Fortunately you are only guaranteed to play at the iconic stadium once this year, with you making the top 4 of the championship unlikely. Is there a better way to double/triple your income without cashing in on your home fixture? When we are back in Super(duper)league next year you will have to come to terms with accepting the Wakefield fan when Trin come to town. Just the thought of housing the Wakey individual should be enough to convince you that this should be a no-brainer.
Would also be nice for your lads to play on a flat playing surface for a home game.

| The OP misses the biggest reason of all, do we even know where half these places are? Anyway, I've said my bit elsewhere about the lower league riff-raff.
(Seriously though, the WUM is amusing to a point, but the rest of us will have to cop the extra rage and hate stirred up by this! And have you not seen the internet? There are some weird people out there...)

| I know where most of them used to be..but, obviously, they must have moved or there would have been no necessity to build that new M62 to get to them. Why these places were moved when they sat in such advantageous positions on the A58 I don't know..

| Watching the fifty foot New York snowdrifts reminds me of Boxing Day at Thrum Hall. I can't remember now but think they moved cos they were too soft to play in the cold. Why, I'm sure that Bentley chap even wore gloves.

| Coldest spot in RL was Thrum Hall - possibly, maybe, arguably trumped by Watersheddings...depending on which way the wind was blowing. Always find it a bit sad to lose the old grounds, to be honest, but div 2 definitely go a bit warmer when they went..
Don't remember that Bentley chap at Thrum Hall, I thought he was later at the Shay? Colin Dixon and Charlie Renilson were the sort of names I remember from the the TH days.

I think Bentley played in his mittens bet. 92-96 and they moved to t'Shay in 1998?

| I have a painful Thrum Hall memory of Bentley picking up the ball next to the corner flag and scoring in the diagonally opposite corner. I don't remember the gloves, just that he was a copper and fast as ....

You may well be right FA. I do remember him at the Shay too, I have a feeling he played for Cleckheaton RU and then came back to Fax later in his career and that's maybe what I'm remembering.

You can not be serious!
Thrum Hall was bleeding tropical compared with Odsal.

| Odsal has its own microclimate that is certainly true and could be cold enough for anyone to be fair but, talking of plain, simple, perishing cold, to compare it with those frozen arctic environments stuck on the side of the hill [either Watersheddings or Thrum Hall, in the words of the famous oracle John McEnroe - "you cannot be serious"!

It wasn't, of course, not being up a mountain an' all, but the thing is once you got in to Thrum Hall, you could find the shelter of a roof and as long as you stayed put, you had some protection from the elements. Whereas the wide open terraces of the Odsal bowl are not a fun place to be when there's an icy wind ripping hail or snow around.

| Good job we have summer rugby now - even if it does start in the winter!
Fingers crossed that next season we will have a team which will be able to give the opposition a warm welcome
