The club are launching a subscription to Bulls TV, priced at £2.50 per month for members and £3.00 fore non-members. Anybody have thoughts on this? I think it is a reasonable fee for a service we have taken for granted this past year and given that we aren't made of money it makes sense to open up new revenue streams, no matter how small.

| Inevitable really, but I don't know how anyone could baulk at paying a measly £2.50 a month for what is a great service.
I would have paid that before they started offering full match replays, but with the full games available to watch on there it's a bargain imo.

| Nah. I only use it to quickly watch some highlights when they come up so won't bother anymore.

| Can't get to many away games so well worth it for me now their putting full matches on. Can't say I'll watch much of other stuff on it though.

| Good idea. Think they're going to be doing more than just highlights. I know they've started doing full games as well now. Even if only 200 fans signed up, that's £500 every month for the club. With money tight, not to be sniffed at.

| Bulls TV was a great addition last season. I had a feeling that it would eventually become a paid subscription service. I'll be signing up next month regardless of the pricing. My only complaint (and it's a small one) is that there isn't currently an option to pay for 12 months up front.
Also, I wonder if the club have any prospects of live streaming the games in the future? Do any other clubs offer that service through their own online channel?

| Fine with me. Good idea. I hope to see more in there about the 16s and 19s too.
So far Bulls TV has only scratched the surface.

I know premier league clubs like LFCTV and Man u tv can't show games live due to the sky contract that would probably apply to us with Sky holding championship rights as well.

Same here. Very rarely watch it except for games I don't get to. Even then it's highlights rather than a full game, as I struggle to watch a full game I know the result of, it bores me to tears.
It's not a bank breaker at all, but it's still not value for me personally. Hopefully other fans disagree with me though and it makes the club lots of money.
Live games would probably change my mind, but I really can't see that happening.

| Yeah I doubt live games will ever be a thing on these sorts of services. Other clubs have been charging for such a service for some years now so nice to see we're catching up.

But what's the cost of providing the service? Love the idea, but it will need a much bigger takeup than that to make any appreciable money, I reckon. Still no doubt Mr Ferres has done his sums

Don't think the cost would be much. Pretty sure the club advertised for to students to get involved this as volunteers to get some work experience. At the moment the club aren't charging anything so even if it Was only 200 fans who signed up, it's still £500 extra than what we're getting now.

| I've checked Bulls' TV and on the news pages of the website, and can't find where to sign up, Am I missing something?
Like Doooom said, I'd be hoping for twelve month [or season length subs, rather than messing about every month.

| I think this is a good idea. I think many more than 200 will take it up but there will be lots of fans from the same household and some will share U/Names and passwords. Fans who pay to watch will like to watch it again and many who don't / can't go will also see it as good value at 63p per game.
Would also be great if the younger lads game was also shown occasionally.
£2.50 DD per month is something I would seriously consider.

| I never even thought about the under 19s etc but that would be great if they could have a camera at those games. Even if it was just highlights, it would be something I'd definitely watch.

| Great idea... When they started selling the Salfird game on DVD last year I was quite happy to pay £5 for selected games so £2.50 per month is great value for money.
As others have said, U16's and U19's would be good as well. They were definitely showing highlights of them last year on the odd occasion so I would assume they would show them.

To show highlights you have to record the full match anyway, so I guess there is little cost involved, other than a small increase in download time and even that is mitigated by not having to edit it before putting it out.
In terms of the monthly charge, we need to know just what the plans are for the off-season as Bulls' TV has pretty much closed during this period up to now.

Re Bulls TV subs will that include any Sky shown games and also the Super 8's and MPG? and will there be a 12 month option?
And the reply
Yes, all those game are included. You'll have the option to pay monthly or for 12 months

| The cost is an annual cost so if BullsTV goes dormant in the off-season that isn't really a bad thing, we all need a break to refresh our appetites.
Highlights of all games are a must as it's sometimes not easy to find an hour and a half time or the inclination to sit through a whole (say) U19s match, and if I've been to a good game then it's great to watch the highlights but I won't often watch the whole of all but the best or more controversial games from end to end. What with Sky, Bulls, NRL, there is only so much time I can eke out of a week to sit and watch RL

I agree about the 'dormancy' thing - it's just that, from the early posts, it appeared as though it was only going to be available via a monthly subscription, and if that had been the case it would have impacted on the returns as people probably wouldn't pay during the off-season.

| With any luck, money raised form this will go towards improving BCB's coverage!
That said, I do like JP and Hobbo's passion.

BCB was comical at times last week, but you had to feel sorry for poor Mr Gledhill and Hobbo trying to broadcast over a 3G connection because Whitehaven haven't really moved into the information age yet. No internet link for them to use to broadcast, so presumably one of them had to tether their phone and it kept dropping off.
Hobbo I tend to find difficult to listen to at times. Especially when he gets a bee in his bonnet about something (the referee and Caro's defence last week) and doesn't shut up about it. But I didn't mind JP's commentary and actually thought Mick did a good job last week under the circumstances.
