I started this thread to show some solidarity with species of another club feeling shortchanged. It is good to see the quality of input from fans of the red devils and I hope it works out for you. I think the next three years is s**t or bust though for the club.

Great summary, couldnt have said it better myself. For the majority of Vievers reign I dont understand what he did apart from pick the 17, our defence was a shambles and it was only down to Longy that our attack was so good. With Patten, Smith, Holdsworth and Moon and a half decent bunch around them we should have done better last season.



Puletua sounds a cert whilst Meli and Soliola (I wish) have also been rumoured.



I'd quite happily swap our three for those. They are truly dreadful.

Meli and Puletua are part of your 6 signings. I believe the others are Chase, Dobson, Morley and Hock. However, Hock needs to get out of his Parra contract.

Hock is not and never was going to Salford or getting out of his contract with the Eels. That has been confirmed direct to the Eels by Dr Koukash (who stated that Salford had never shown any interest in Hock), as reported with quotes in the Australian press last week. That was nothing more than Internet rumour and that is probably the case with Chase, Dobson and Morley! (Although Morley may be tempted with being OOC from Wire and Salford being his home town)

As I said Meli and Soliola are only rumours and the (I wish) comment next to Soliola tells you what my thoughts are on the rumour.

How have Puletua and Meli gone for Saints this season? I know were desperate for experience in what is a relatively young team but the last thing we need is to be pensioning former star players. Morley is pretty much nailed on and there is definite interest in both Chase and Dobson, with many people close to the club hinting Chase is a done deal.

Meli has been ok this year as he is most seasons (apart from finals). He returns the ball very strong and great finisher near the line. I'd personally keep him over Ade Gardner as he offers a lot more.

Puleatua has been hit and miss this year. He can be lazy and invisable but then pop up with a good run and does some great offloads. TP has missed James Graham big time as Graham did the hard yards which allowed TP do the classy stuff. If you put TP with two good hard working props, he will turn out a excellent signing.

Will be very happy if Peletua is one of our signings but will be extremely dissapointed if Meli signs, he will be 35 next season.

I bet TP is pushing 35 as well.

They approached Hock and made him a massive offer.

Correct, he's 34 in 2 weeks. He's a forward though and forwards over 32 I have no qualms with but signing wingers that are 35 is absolute madness.

Meli is a good player. He's been very consistent for us over the years apart from grand finals.

Meli will be Salford's best player by a country mile. He's our best back bar J-Lo and our best winger by an enormous distance.

Yes; just think if only he could catch a ball he'd be a star.

Knew about Meli and Puletua, not Wellens though.

I think TP and Meli will do a job for you but wello is finished.

Hopefully he'll just be a 12 month signing to help develop Sneyds, who isn't a natural full back and whilst he's flourished from an attacking perspective this season he has struggled with the defensive side of things.

Dr Koukash has personally signed up to a 5 year CVA. He wouldnt have done so if he didnt have the intention of staying that long. Would you let someone manage a club when you are a guarantor for the debt inherited?

TP and Meli will be great players for Salford but Dr Flashcash will be making a huge mistake with Wellens.
