The mighty Socceroos are getting ready to storm the World Cup. Apparently. I'm ready for every know-nought Aussie to become a 'soccer' fan overnight (almost literally as that's how long their interest in the sport is retained once Australia get knocked out). Funnily enough the exact same effect would be expected if Australia ever manages to host the World Cup - full stadia at games, massive support for the whole thing, followed by miniscule crowds watching the A League the following year.

The only shock omission is Adam Johnson. Walcott has had far too many chances and I hope he spends the off season figuring where it went all wrong. Mind you getting drunk with your mates down the boozer sounds more prosperous than thinking.
