All you eejits who thought this "wouldn't make a difference" are about to have your theories empirically tested.'"
Stop panicking Cp Jones. This was to be expected after the tales of doom pushed out for 3 months from you Remainers. To talk down our country was disgraceful.
Anyway cheer up the pound against the Euro is 1.25 this mornning marginally better than on Monday. The reason is that the Euro has fallen as much as the pound because as some of us have been saying our leaving the EU as the 2nd biggest net contributor and the EU biggest market will hit them hard and even harder if they play silly beggars with tarriffs.

| Quote ="rotherhamrhino"At the risk of opening a can of worms!
If we wake up on Friday morning and the nation has decided (incorrectly in my opinion), that we are better off out of Europe will this have any impact on the approach taken by the RFL.
For example we keep getting told by the 'leave' lot that leaving would make us stronger and mean we can set up trading arrangements with the important countries of the world (America and China). If this is the case and we leave the EU will this mean a strategic shift by the RFL to try to bring a US side or Chinese side into the Super league. In a few years time we might be playing against the Washington weasels or the Beijing beavers! Might be quite interesting that.
if the outcome is remain then at least all the dragons players won't spend half their training times filling out visas. I assume this might actually be the case as they would effectively be earning money undertaking their employment at least some of the time in the uk. Hate to think what a headache it is going to be for all the premiership football players from Europe who suddenly have to prove under a points based entry system that they are able to come here to work.'"

This is how I see it too!
The mainline media and social media are accusing all 'outers' of being racist, right wing, ignorant idiots. Being called a racist is the worst insult anyone could throw at me. I want to welcome those escaping real and dangerous conflict in all parts of the world and others who genuinely seek better lives for their family and will work hard for it. We cannot do without people like this in the NHS and elsewhere. I do not want to be forced to accept criminals and undesirables simply because the EU says we must. That is not racist - it is a matter of ethics and morality, culture not racism. IMO that is at the heart of the rejection I hear from many. I voted out and I am happy to see that the majority have had their say and the fraud, corruption and financial mismanagement that threads through EU bureaucracy is now more likely to be exposed. We need to ensure that the rights of workers and other benefits/legislation, that came about by being of being part of the EU, are protected, but the rest of the stranglehold is now broken. That can only be good, although the 'money giants' , financial gamblers and purse string holders will be jumping up and down for some while. I think we all know, sadly, where the real power lies, but they are shaking in their boots this morning.

How exactly do we ensure that the good stuff that came about through EU membership is protected?
Having Boris as PM and Michael Gove as Chancellor?
Why would anything about the EU now be exposed?
How is it good for anyone if those with the real power are shaking in their boots?

| I voted to leave. I voted to leave for a few reasons, but immigration wasn't one of them. I was undecided for a while, but I then asked myself if I was voting to join the EU would I do so in it's current state? The answer is no. I've had doubts about the EU since the Euro was ludicrously created resulting in the shafting of the likes of Portugal, Spain, and Greece. The Greece fiasco, in particular was a disgrace, and proved to me that the EU, and ECB are not organisations we should have anything to do with.

I think we have an "Eats shoots & leaves/Eats, shoots, & leaves" problem here
Your original sentence:
[uTrouble is everyone I know bar one or two who voted out are racist and thick, most people's argument is purely based on phoney nationalism and immigration.[/u
Did you mean it in the context "everyone I know, bar one or two who voted out, are racist & thick" ie the Remainers you know are racist & thick & you only know one or two Brexiters.
or "everyone I know, bar one or two, who voted out are racist & thick" ie you know one or two Remainers, the rest are Brexiters who are racist & thick.
Two very different statements, depending upon where your commas are placed. Having read some of your earlier posts I now suspect you meant the former. However, I can see where the confusion for Tad arose. Punctuation can be important (that sounds grossly condescending - sorry)

I don't mind admitting I feel really sad. ..and frankly afraid of the genie now out of the bottle. I heard a man openly loudly say in a car park today that now we can get the fekking Poles out of the country.
Whether we like it or not many like this now feel emboldened.
Of course not everbody that voted Brexit are racists, bigots and xenophobes ...but all racists, bigots and xenophobes certainly voted Brexit.
Fundamentally the country is equally divided....this will take a long time to heal. I particularly sorry for my son and his friends who all voted Remain (part of the 75%) ...they feel particularly betrayed by the "old b'stards living in the past and whose pensions we have to pay".
You were one of the ones on here I thought was quite measured and clever on the Brexit side....it's a shame so many were not ....and are not.
Farage saying "a victory for ordinary people, decent people"....so the 48% are not?? The man has a lot to answer for.
I now understand how the Scots must have felt...indeed from listening to the radio today I now know. Although they were disappointed in this result they had no appetite for yet another divisive referendum, which pitted family members and former friends against each other. It WILL be interesting to see if the SNP will be the next to fulfill THEIR raison d'etre. Either way my son and his girlfriend have been looking at jobs in Edingburgh in the hope they will yet find a way to remain EU members.
As I say...truly sad day. I don't think I will be on here for quite some time (if ever). Somehow now RL just becomes even more trivial than ever it was before.
I can hear the cheers from Loiner81, Printer, Juan etc.

Whilst the first quote is obviously a dumb opinion held to discriminate against a certain group, is the what seems to be increasing 'blame' and finger pointing at the 'old vote' acceptable too?
Starting to see a lot of complaining that these "old folk" won't have to live with the consequences for too long unlike the younger generation.....so what? Should we have put an age limit on the vote and said no one over 50 could vote?
