| I Get the thinking behind calls for changing the line up in the backs and giving Broadbent a go but for me He and others need to force their way in by performance.
I’m not sold on Agar but think he has to build partnerships and get some consistency and better team play through the season. Only Sutcliffe and Handley have ever played much together.
So for me Walker and Myler battle it out for FB. And then we stick to squad numbers 2-7 when fit and keep those players in those positions whenever possible.
So If Newman out, Briscoe comes in and we keep all the others where they are.

What more do you want Broadbent to do exactly?

Rip it up in the reserves and training, play much better than Briscoe and he will get in

| Well Briscoe hasn't exactly set the bar high and surely it works both ways with him playing well enough to keep his place.

| Agree Briscoe at centre is not Gene Miles so Broadbent if good enough and defending well enough he should be able to force his way in as this season rolls on.

| Briscoe is not a centre and is at the tail end of his career. Broadbent is a centre and potentially has a long career ahead of him. I don't see any rationale for picking Briscoe ahead of Broadbent other than Briscoe showing great from in the centres, which he hasn't.

| I find it frustrating, and it's not that I've seen a huge amount of Broadbent. However it's plain as day that Briscoe is a square peg in a round hole.
My only thought would be that he struggled with the physically of first team, and struggled defensively. Briscoe whilst having limited impact in attack, is pretty solid defending

Yep. Pretty sure Agar has praised his metres carrying out from deep too. Not really what I'd be looking at closely from a centre but the kind of metric that some coaches seem to like. Possibly rightly, who knows?

| To be fair to Agar Briscoe wasn’t picked at centre this week, he was a sub. Broadbent is currently behind in the pecking order as things stand, who knows why, perhaps his performance in pre season training wasn’t at the same level as his competition or he may have picked up a small unreported injury in pre season.
It’s early days in both the season and Broadbent’s career, but Agar has put him in the first team before and I’m sure he will again. I wonder if he’s a player who may feature for the Bulls in the new dual registration agreement.

| Its upto Broadbent to perform to a higher standard. He scored 3 last week but he let one in and overall didnt do enough and i say that as a big fan of Jack.

True. He's always been a strong carrier early in the tackle count. Part of the game often overlooked. RL these days is 95% graft and 5% flair, so steady wins the day

| Far as I could see he wrapped the ball carrier's legs with his own to help bring him to ground in a two man tackle. I've not watched it back but didn't see a lot wrong. One where even the disciplinary might struggle to find grounds for a ban, I reckon...

| For me there was nothing in any of our tackles that are likely to be looked at that are worthy of a ban, Fusitua came from in front and put in a bit of a lazy shoulder, worthy of a warning. Smith was poor technique but didn't look reckless or particularly dangerous to me and Leeming's was a great tackle that I'm still not convinced even made any contact with the head - and the disciplinary have already set their stall out in that regard with Currie's tackle that was much worse.
Far and away the most dangerous thing that happened in the game was the double knee to the head and that has to be looked at.
On the game itself, it felt like if we hadn't put the cue on the rack at half time we could have scored another five. The tries Wakey scored were generally very good and not down to our traditional defensive flaws. Much more like the Warrington performance and a good sign.

The farce is that our players keep committing stupid fouls. I assume this is what you mean.

| I think Leeming will be ok given Currie was ok. From memory, Smith wrapped his legs around the Wakie player but still had his feet on the ground so if my understanding is correct, he should be ok. Fusitua I expect to be banned, it was just stupid and not required.
If Newman's injury is hamstring related then we won't see him for a while. Hopefully, Austin passed the head assessment.

| I watched the Sin Bin podcast on Our League
They keep going on about previous record but dont specify the players disciplinary record.
I think they should have a point system like they do with a drivers licence, if you recieve a ban then get points on your licence, then all will know what the players previous is like before heading in to the disciplinary process

| Joke. Smith and Leeming grade B, both given one match bans. Baffled that Smith’s tackle was even considered. At worst, a warning about ‘technique’ possibly but there wasnt anything in it. And Leeming’s, well, intial contact was good and it slipped up.
Still leaves a bitter taste Fusitu’a missed 2 games this season whilst Currie got to play.
Atleast they got Jowitt right.

The more decisions that get made the more wrong the call they made on Currie looks.
I'm very much on the side of foul/dangerous/reckless play needs to be punished, but we've got two players banned for 'racing incidents' that were very much in keeping with the way the game was played and with no intent to cause harm.
Surely we've got to switch to a points based system soon if the disciplinary is going to retain any credibility.

| would be interesting to to the percentage increase in bans this year. It is becoming too big a contentious talking point with all these yellows getting bans. Theres making certain steps to eradicate elements of foul play but the lack of balance is hurting the game.
