| In a perfect world we would strengthen in the majority of positions, but it’s just not realistic. My preference would be a number 9. Ideally one that has more pace than the current bunch, capable of running in behind and stretching defences. Similar to Jermaine Beckford ?, yes please. If not a speedster, then one who is a real aerial threat and knocks defenders about, makes things happen for other players, a Lee Chapman?, yes please. Ideally we’d find someone with all the above attributes, but if not at least a couple because the current lot offer none of the above between the four of them. A loan would be ideal, because a centre forward capable of stepping up to the Premier League would cost big bucks and may not be available to buy at the moment. Also, buying someone just to get us over the line this season with the aim of upgrading him next season is not ideal. The problem may be we need to move at least one bigger earner out, we all know who he is, and whether he would be prepared to move on. As for Schmidt, just had a look at his history/stats and he’s classed as a right footer who prefers left back ?? Now call me old fashioned, but I prefer a left back to be left footed for very obvious reasons. We already have a surplus of right footers playing down the left hand side, and I think it causes us real problems to be honest. If there’s one criticism I have of us as a team it’s that we can look unbalanced a lot of the time. I think we’ve prospered despite it.

|
Yes Ampadu is far better in midfield.
Personally I would have gone Wober alongside Rodon and Schmidt LB.
Hull were or still are the worse team in the league for goals scored and they had 6 or 7 players missing surely Schmidt should have come in for this game.
James had a shocker against Blackburn too and I think we should have given Ramzanni a game especially against so called poorer teams.
If it`s not working you have the likes of Byram and James or Gnonto to come on.[/quote:2yap3ngb]
To be fair to Blackburn they’ve a new manager in there now who’s definitely made them better, they’re recent games have been much much better then under old manager. Wober gets beat to easily by someone with pace when he’s at LB. Agree re Ramazani, I thought he’d come on along with Gnonto when we went 3-1 up and also Guilavogi to help us defensively

|
wait till you see them. one was middle of goal. 6 inches out and he takes his eye off it. I know he scored but he was very poor today. /quote]
The radio commentary team and papers agree with you. Funny thing is they also slated your mate Piroe who had another really poor game by all accounts. You seem to have a real agenda against James, yet fail to ever mention Piroe’s long standing underperformance. There’s only one out of the above two that has plenty of credit in the bank, and it isn’t your mate Piroe. For me, James is currently our player of the year despite his last couple of underwhelming performances. Piroe ? , I really don’t think we’d miss him if he didn’t play again this season.

| I can see us in 3rd after the next 4 or 5 games.
We had a good opportunity to get some sort of a cushion with a home win against Blackburn and an away win at Hull.
So for me that`s 4 points dropped and Sheff Utd and Burnley have what looks like a few easier games than us coming up.

| 4 from next 5 are st home inc cup. We'll still be top 2. Cup coming along is perfect timing imo. Time to have a look at Darlow and rest the main guys. Today may focus the minds a bit that there’s still improvement required and an incoming player in Jan would be welcome
