Quote: Andy Gilder "The Today programme is Radio 4's flagship show, with around 7 million listeners a week. It draws its listeners from across the country, not just established RL heartlands in the way Look North does.
I'm a fan of having cup draws immediately after the televised games on the BBC, but in the absence of that for this round it's a positive move to have one of BBC radio's most listened to shows host the draw.
We need to get away from the northern insularity that dogs the game and open it up to a wider audience. This kind of exposure can only help do that.'"
Put it on BBC 1 or 2 then after a national show or give it its's own fifteen minute slot, BBC show us you care about the competition. Radio 4 at 8.30am on a Tuesday for a couple of token minutes doesn't cut it for me.
Saying that, the old slot on Look North with Harry and the velvet bag will do nicely for me, call me insular all you want
