Harrison was appointed without interviewing anyone else by I believe Croad and Abbott. I hope the same mistake is not made this time and they interview everyone with more people involved to make sure they get the right man. The club can not afford another cock up like last time.

| I agree with GFB's, and i'll add my two penneth on the new coach.
Firstly, they're gonna have to work with almost all of the current & new signings that are in place, I can't see there being much scope for other new signings if any.
Secondly, it had better be someone of some kind of experience because competing against three or four full time squads will be devastating & i can see some massive blow-out scores on the horizon. The in-coming coach needs to have balls of steel, it aint gonna be an easy job, next season will be such an uneven competition i think.

| This decision is a huge for the club as we have fallen a long way below where we need to be and with at least 3 full time teams next year and 4 on bigger budgets whoever comes in will have to work some magic for us to compete and get us playing good rugby again to win back lost fans.
We need an ultra professional person who is also a good PR man, there will be one out there and hopefully has skills like Neil Aspin at FCHT who has got Town punching way above their weight.

Do you want the person who looks good or the person who is a good coach? Marshall has had an excellent apprenticeship under some great coaches in a great environment. Struggle to think of anyone that would be better qualified to be honest.

Fair point and he may be ideal. However i remember him as being an ordinary player
and wouldn't make the missing 1000s sit up and take note.

Would if he played attractive winning rugby
It will be a slow start for the crowds next year, we will be there at the beginning it's up to the coach and players to entice the disenchanted

A good appointment in my opinion.
Given his history and what he has done at Warrington I dont think its unfair to expect him to make a lot of improvements in regards to player performance and the whole coaching set up.
Hopefully exciting times ahead.

Before our neandathol friends come on getting all fired up I am not having a go at FC Halifax Town I very much hope they make the playoffs.
I also mean no disrespect to Fax4life but I did think at the time this was a very bizarre statement.
Punching above his weight?
It just goes to show that none of us really know the problems and pitfalls managers or coaching staff have.
I will leave it at that because as I say I do not want the Luddites thinking I am having a go.
I simply mean lets judge things a little later in a season.
I understand Mr Aspin went full time this year.

Perhaps proves my point, two of the four posters comments at the foot of the article are regular rabid commentators on anything Fax related, seems they are at the moment distracted.
