He's got an awful lot of historical baggage. BUT:- you've seen him in SL - he's a right player. The likes I thought we had seen the last of in a rovers shirt.

Listen, I'm prepared to draw a line under his "history" if he divvies up! However, he needs to keep his head right - that I will acknowledge. He's a cracking player at SL ne'er mind this level! We all know the stuff that's let him down in the past. Let's hope, and help the lad to keep it there - in the past!!!!

He's a good player - no doubt about it but I wouldn't want him at my club.
Too many chances for me, he doesn't deserve another chance IMO!

We signed Ian Bell, also with a lot of baggage. He too had loads of chances at Hull, Barrow, Fev and York - he's spurned all those chances. Sometimes people are just that way.
Ben will have an opportunity to bring his SL talent to Fev. If he delivers and keeps his head right - bingo, I'm happy! If he doesn't he'll go the same way of Ian Bell

He's done ok at SL and would without doubt feature at our level very well.
If this had had no "baggage", no history etc, we'd be whooping at his signature. Now regardless of the club he's signed for, I'm one for letting people face the consequences of their actions, pay their dues, and move on. If he screws up - like Ian Bell has done so very often and with a great deal of predictability, then fair do's.
But this lad is proven on the training pitch and in the game. Solely isolating the playing aspect of his life, stepping down to our level will be hugely beneficial to Rovers at this point in the season - and in my opion a great signing by the BoD!
Time will tell if my confidence is appropriately placed.
