| A very positive review and up to 5 more players to come in for next year.

Quote: "“We’ve announced four players up to now and have signed another two who are due to be announced shortly,” he added. “On the back of that there are two World Cup players that we’ve agreed terms with and there is one more in the pipeline. That means another five new faces coming in, on top of the four we’ve already announced, and whether we bring any more in beyond that will depend on if we’re able to negotiate some movement on a couple of contracted players within the club. The emphasis is on quality, not just in terms of ability, but in terms of enhancing the group and building a culture within the club.'"
Very good news, although it sounds like we are looking to move a couple of contracted players out of the club, which I never like to see.

| I doubt they will move Gleeson on unless we have another centre coming in. As much as I rate Salter, we need cover, particularly as Welham is becoming the new Jake Webster regarding injuries.

The two to be announced soon, I suppose most people would assume Jon Walker is one now. And I'd fully approve, fwiw.
The World Cup player announcements will have to wait until the RFL confirm the non-fed limit is going up to 7, I'd guess. O/T Pearson's comment about Hull FC's recruitment plans now makes more sense.
As for those contracted maybe leaving, I've heard the rumours, and (apart from Caro (sorry Omari!)) they all seem a bit surprising - but it's hard to judge without knowing who we'd be looking to bring in. And yeah, I'm torn too between feeling levering out players isn't nice and may damage moral and thinking 'stuff nice', we need to be ruthless. ateotd, you can't move on a contracted player against their will and they hold the cards.

I know what you are saying, and agree with it to an extent, but Gleeson (for example) was a known quantity before we signed him. He has a contract and it deserves honouring. Unless he's in breach (and being injured is unlikely to breach his contract) he has every right to dig in and fight for a place in the team.

30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| There's already an occasional bouncy castle and an old mini bus behind the East Stand, what more do people want?
Moon on a stick some people, moon on a bloody stick.

Lovegrove, Tuimavave, Hall and Caro were the players 'Nosey' Parker said were being shopped about, iirc. The first 3 did and still do seem a bit odd - all offered something last year and were either signed by CS or got new deals under him, I think. There seems to have been some truth in the Lovegrove one though, so who knows?
