Congratulations to the Academy players signed on Proffesional contracts. Have have just read about it on Rovers TV (Internet not going quick enough to bloody watch the video)

Anybody know who which players have signed? Any that are likely to develop to first team? How long the contracts are for etc?

HDM named the 8 academy players signed Proffesional contracts,

Martin Dunn states "The future is in good hands."

And on RoversTv - Sandercock says "some of these boys are a good as any I've seen in Australia" Pretty bold statement I thing you'll agree.

All this seems exciting for the future of the club (given the recent comments, Chinese whispers and usual banter about the future of rovers)

Is this the start of Hudgells new philosophy of good young talent, being nurtured by Sandercock and developed into a good young side?

Hope so one day we will get back to having a team of locals or at the least British with just the odd over seas player you never know

I honestly don't know, I would presume he had signed for Hull, but I know that Leeds and maybe Wigan were looking at him, hopefully he will be one of the Hull clubs as it's a shame to see top local talent leave the area.

Wish we had got Macauley Hallet, good lad who I think will do very well.

Yeah Hallett is one of the 8 that Rovers have signed (according to HDM). So hopefully a few of them will make an impact over the next couple of seasons. Ive always believed that if your good enough then your old enough, so time will tell if Sandercock and Co can develop them into Super League players.

I'm not sure who or how many youngsters FC have signed up, but with Hull buying every-man and his dog. This may stop some of their academy
players being given a chance, (as i cant imagine their buying all of these players to sit on the bench), Rovers could maybe benefit from this, as Hulls academy players and other good youngsters in Hull, may feel we can offer them more opportunities. IMO
