We're coming to make some noise!: |
|
| Why are we getting rid of him?
Well we've got the best squad we've assembled in recent history yet playing like we are one of the worst teams in the league. Our tactics are often very questionable and how many shallackings have we taken by the teams we are supposed to be competing with? It isn't an odd occasion that we get spanked it is quite often no matter which players he puts out there.
Don't get me wrong I think he has done a good job and won't struggle to find employment but the time has now come where we need someone to come in and make us a force in this league, not just a team to make up the numbers. 1 play off win IMO is not a successful season at this level. You can talk about where we've come from and how long these other teams have been in the league but when we have been spending the salary cap almost to it's limits I fail to see how this can be an excuse any longer.
It is funny to watch these forums after defeats then after a win and see the stark contrast in views. Had we lost to St's this thread would have probably been all about how it is deffinately the right time for him to leave and the clear out en mass is essential to our progression!

| Ur right nick in all that you say sadly this has come a little to late as a lot of fans for a long time have been questioning morgans decisions about team selection and the way we have been playing, yesterday there was that buzz back and the lads on the field especially the youngsters did us proud.

| It is sad that JM is parting company with the club but it is the right time for a change. I think that our play off win against FC last year papered over the cracks. We got some right good hidings last season & we were nilled more than once. As Nick says we don't just get beat by the top sides we get hammered.
I think there has been to much off field goings on this season as well.
Yesterday we looked like a team that really wanted to play for Rovers again.

I dont have any gripe with Morgan but please explain why 1 play off win is not a succsess considering where this club was 7 years ago? & by what divine right Rovers have over every other club to be succsessfull? A lot of our fans need a reality check Rovers have allways been except for a heady few years in the 1980,s an average run of the mill club who have won very little. Today we are on the verge of competing with the top clubs & in the best shape on & off the field we have ever been I call that a succsess & Justin Morgan is at the heart of that.

True mate but I think we're due a change of coach. There's a reason why top clubs don't appear to have long serving coaches in Superleague. We can't keep a coach for the sake of past achievements or we will never progress.

I agree, JM has been brilliant for us and will remain an important figure in our history, but time for fresh ideas.

| I agree with what has been said and to add I believe the players are playing now as THEY WANT TO PLAY not what Morgan wants. My only concern is letting Ben Fisher go it is so obvious when he is on the park Rovers are a far better team. Lets hope who ever comes in knows a bit about dummy half play and can improve Josh Hodgson's work around the play of the ball, because Morgan hasn't

It WAS a success at the time but we can't live off it. We have gone backwards since then and to an extent where we are still getting massive scores past us and struggling against teams we are supposed to be competing against.
So while it is seen as an achievement of our past we must move on and expect better. Sure i'd rather be in a position to win one play off game than be in a Northern Rail Cup Final but when we are competing to WIN the competition how can it be classed as success. That would be mediocrity and I hope the players see that no silverware is failure rather than being happy with a sole victory.
