Thats how I see it with a couple of promotions from the academy. Maybe lacking the star names of previous squads, but it looks a solid squad that if players in key positions stay fit, could perform above the sum of its parts.

| Regarding it being a thinner squad - well we are trying to trim the wage bill by all accounts. Plus one or two have taken a step forward in recent weeks. And we either have or want to upgrade some players' deals.
If we've replaced Clinton, Webster, Galea and B. Green with ET, Gleeson, Paterson and Burns, then we need to fill the gaps left by Watts, Wheeldon, Murrell and McDonnell. We really did start this season with a lot of props! Green, Griffin, Sheriff and Peterson have all shown promise. I'd like one more quality signing - but then I'd like all sorts of things.
Regarding Hepi - that'd be great. Unless you mean we're selling everybody else!  |

I sense tongue-in-cheek behind your comment!
Not biting, I am going to suggest both Rovers and FC will be hoping their new half back pairings can gell quickly.
Looking at both clubs 'pairings' (assuming they do start 2013), the styles of 6 & 7 will be very similar. Dobbo and Holdsworth are the generals, and Burns and Chase add brawn and cutting edge.
As for who will have the best pairing - I'm biased but at the same time I'm looking forward to seeing Holdsworth/Chase. Next seasons derbies are already whetting my appetite. |
