I've been watching Sam Tomkins this year , first ESL Games since the early nineties.

The Talent is there , there are plenty of players well capable of winning the cup.

They were slow,slow,slow and predictable with everything in the first half, despite scoring three tries. In the second half, they were clueless and inept. It's a shame the Keepmoat's not staging a real World Cup Match, as it is a far superior facility to Salford's. Disappointing all round really.

I for one have no confidence in him and fear that with his team selection and [itactics[/i we could be embarrassed during this World Cup.

I'll add that I think some teams will easily expose those in his squad whos discipline is somewhat questionable.

To be honest I wouldnt have picked either of these.

Hock has got undoubted ability but seems not to be able to control himself and ive never seen what everyone else sees in Westwood who is just an average SL forward.

The non selection of Brough is the big one but no one seems to know what has gone off behind the scenes a few months ago.When McNamara named a 70 or 80 odd strong initial squad about 6 months ago and Brough wasnt in it said something had gone off.

It seems to me that McNamara has picked a squad full of his old boys regardless of what form they or anyone else is in.
