Took in the first game of the campaign last night and when you looked at the Barrow line up you feared the worse. They and Widnes should be neck and neck this year and if I was a Barrow fan I would be purring with anticipation. Why it took Barrow so long to spread it out was a surprise, when they did they were ruthless and the size, speed and class told. I came away feeling that we will not finish bottom of our League, that we may just surprise one or two. The effort was first class and for that I applaud the players for not giving in. I hope that TM can develop a settled side and one that we can look forward to seeing this year rather than the past four years when we have had a 'fresh' look every six months.
To sum up, enjoyed the effort from the players, the breaks did'nt quite go our way ( Jemmo may have covered that in his deleted thread
) I look forward to a settled season, some hopeful surprises and the growth of Doncaster Rugby League. (Oh and watching Rooney on TV getting a buttercup stain on his crisp clean shirt when he may be forced to put a tackle effort in)
